Introduction: Musical intervention (MI) is a valuable strategy for addressing the psychological and emotional challenges faced by patients undergoing imaging procedures. This study explores MI's impact on psychophysiological outcomes during imaging procedures, detailing the sound repertoire and technical characteristics employed in MI.
Methods: A systematic review (SR) and meta-analysis (MA) were conducted.
We present a 29-year-old man admitted to our hospital with fatigue for two months of duration and recent palpitations, lightheadedness, blurred vision and nausea. Workup showed pancytopenia with severe macrocytic anemia, laboratory and blood smear features of hemolysis, low reticulocyte percentage and a negative direct Coombs test. B12 and folate levels were normal.

These students may develop rehabilitation activities with patients in their person-oriented or technique-oriented professions. Portuguese nursing and allied health students from two public higher education schools completed questionnaires in the first and third academic years: Patient-Practitioner Orientation Scale, Jefferson Scale of Physician Empathy, Scale for Interpersonal Behaviour, and a subjective perception of technical knowledge and communication skills.

Purpose: The manuscript aims to characterize the principles of best practice in performing nuclear medicine procedures in paediatric patients. The paper describes all necessary technical skills that should be developed by the healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible care in paediatric patients, as it is particularly challenging due to psychological and physical conditions of children.
Methods: We performed a comprehensive literature review to establish the most relevant elements of nuclear medicine studies in paediatric patients.
The use of technology has proven to be a powerful tool in the fight against COVID-19 and its variants of concern (Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Delta, and Omicron). The urgency of responding to this worldwide pandemic has accelerated the development of monitoring systems and contact tracing applications. Without technology's contribution, the adverse effects on humanity economically, socially, and psychologically would be even more devastating.

Purpose: To understand the impact of radiotherapy educational sessions with virtual reality on oncologic adult patients' psychological and cognitive outcomes related to the treatment experience.
Methods: This review was performed according to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews guidelines. A systematic electronic search in three databases, MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science, was conducted in December 2021 to find interventional studies with adult patients undergoing external radiotherapy who received an educational session with virtual reality before or during the treatment.
Introduction: Physical activity is essential for a healthy life and quality of life, representing a fundamental role in individuals' physical and mental health. Concomitantly, the physical therapist, through the promotion of physical activity and exercise, can improve mental health, an essential factor in the current pandemic, triggering anxiety, fear, and depression crisis.
Objective: To verify physical activity among Portuguese physical therapists and its association with mental health during pandemic times.

Objective: To develop a simple, robust, safe and efficient invasive mechanical ventilator that can be used in remote areas of the world or war zones where the practical utility of more sophisticated equipment is limited by considerations of maintainability, availability of parts, transportation and/or cost.
Methods: The device implements the pressure-controlled continuous mandatory ventilation mode, complemented by a simple assist-control mode. Continuous positive airway pressure is also possible.
The impact of drug transporters in veterinary medicine has been recognized in recent years. One of the most well-characterized is the product of the gene, P-gp. A 4-bp deletion in the gene known since 2001 has been described to affect herding dog breeds.

We report a case of a 69-year-old woman that presented with knee haemarthrosis followed by spontaneous retroperitoneal haematoma. On coagulation studies, she presented normal prothrombin time with prolonged activated partial thromboplastin time non-correcting on mixture test, low titers of factor VIII and was detected factor VIII inhibitor that led to diagnosis of acquired haemophilia A.

Previous research suggested associations between depressive symptomatology and oxytocin levels and between depressive symptomatology and Temperament Traits. Despite this evidence, to the best of our knowledge no research has studied the effects fboth oxytocin serum levels and temperament dimensions on depressivesymptoms in a healthy sample.

Introduction: Anxiety is an emotional reaction often experienced by patients who undergo Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography (PET/CT) with 18F-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-d-glucose (F-FDG). This systematic review aimed to summarise the evidence currently available considering the anxiety experienced by adult oncological patients concerning pre and post F-FDG PET/CT examination and the factors contributing to anxiety.
Methods: A systematic review search of CINAHL, PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus and Web Science databases and other manual search sources, was conducted from November to February 2021.
Purpose: To investigate the subjective experience of adult cancer patients undergoing external radiotherapy and provide evidence for better practices in radiotherapy services.
Methods: A systematic review was performed according to the PRISMA Statement Guidelines. Qualitative and mixed studies were identified through five electronic databases (CINAHL, PsychINFO, Medline, Scopus and Web of Science), between March and April 2020, using defined criteria.
Introduction: Alcohol Dependence Syndrome (ADS) is defined as excessive alcohol consumption accompanied by psychological, physical, social, and economic disorders. Alcohol consumption affects motor and proprioceptive functions, decreasing motor and cognitive functions and causing attention deficits. We aim to evaluate visual function and attention, and psychological profiles in consumer and abstainer ADS patients.

From January 2014 up until October 2020, the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (LFT-FMV) has done the analytical detection of poisoning substances in 503 samples of wildlife and domestic animals and pesticides residues were found in 239 of the samples analyzed. In this retrospective study, toxicology results from domestic species (dog, cat, sheep, cows, and horses), wildlife species (red foxes, birds of prey, lynx, and wild boar), and food baits, are presented.

We aimed to describe the population with carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (CPE) in our hospital from 2014 to 2018, the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics of isolates, and strategies to stop the outbreak.
Methods: We performed a retrospective study, including every patient with CPE species in a clinical sample.
Our objective was to assess the anxiety level in cancer patients undergoing nuclear medicine exams and to identify how professionals can improve patient experience. In total, 94 patients undergoing Tc-hydroxymethylene diphosphonate (Tc-HDP) bone scintigraphy (BS) or F-FDG PET/CT completed 2 scan-experience questionnaires and the Spielberger State Anxiety Inventory (STAI-S) before the scan and after image acquisition. Before the exam, the mean anxiety levels were higher for the Tc-HDP BS group than for the F-FDG PET/CT group.

Competition necessitates pharmaceutical companies to reduce development/production costs and time-to-market. To this aim, mathematical modeling can aid traditional experiment-only-based process development by reducing the design space, integrating scales, and assisting in identifying optimal operating conditions in less time and with lower expense.
