3-Arylidene-2-oxindoles as Potent NRH:Quinone Oxidoreductase 2 Inhibitors.

The enzyme NRH:quinone oxidoreductase 2 (NQO2) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of various diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders, malaria, glaucoma, COVID-19 and cancer. NQO2 expression is known to be increased in some cancer cell lines. Since 3-arylidene-2-oxindoles are widely used in the design of new anticancer drugs, such as kinase inhibitors, it was interesting to study whether such structures have additional activity towards NQO2.

Ketone Derivatives of Propargylamines as Synthetic Equivalents of Conjugated 2,4,1-Enynones in the Synthesis of Acetylenic 2-Pyrazolines and Pyrazoles.

An interaction of 1,5-diaryl-3-X-pent-4-yn-1-ones (where X stands for piperidin-1-yl, morpholin-4-yl, 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl) with arylhydrazines proceeds at room temperature and results in 3-aryl-5-arylethynyl-1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1-pyrazoles with up to 57-73% yields. Under similar conditions, the cyclocondensation of conjugated 2,4,1-enynones with arylhydrazine proceeds only in the presence of cyclic amines. 1,5-Diaryl-3-X-pent-4-yn-1-ones are reported as synthetic equivalents of conjugated 2,4,1-enynones in reactions with arylhydrazines.

[Characteristics of migration of adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stromal cells after co-cultivation with activated monocytes in vitro].

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) are considered to be promising tool of regenerative medicine. Migration of MSC toward damaged inflammatory site is essential for physiological tissue reparation. Therefore we studied modifications of migratory features of adipose tissue derived MSC (AT-MSC) after co-cultivation with activated monocytes derived from THP-1 cell line.

[Bone marrow mononuclear cells from murine tibia after the space flight on biosatellite "Bion-M1"].

Cellularity, viability and immunophenotype of mononuclear cells derived from the tibial marrow of C57bL/6 mice were measured after the 30-day "Bion-M1" space flight and subsequent 7-day recovery. Cell number in the flight group was significantly less than in the group of vivarium control. There was no difference in the parameter between the flight and control groups after the recovery.

[Effect of microwaves on Chlamydomonas actinochloris culture in the stationary phase of growth].

Effects of the microwave radiation on the culture of Chlamydomonas actinochloris green flagellar alga in the stationary phase of growth are studied. After exposure to radiation at the maximum dose of 125 J/g, the cell functional state worsened but all the studied parameters were restored in 20 days and in the long run found to be even better than the control indices. The data are compared with the similar ones obtained earlier for the lag phase culture.

[Investigation of core Y-haplogroups frequency occuring in Moscow and Saint-Petersburg citizens].

A DNA collection of 239 Moscow and 62 SPB citizens has been investigated by means of a biochip for genotyping of Y-chromosome haplogroup markers: M130 (C), M145 (DE), P257 (G), M69 (H), U179 (I), M304 (J), M185 (L), M231 (N), M175 (0), P224 (R), L146 (R1a) and M343 (R1b). Haplogroup frequency distribution in populations native to Moscow and Saint-Petersburg has been obtained. Three subsamples varying in duration of residence (one, two or three generations) were compared.

[Development of the Chlamydomonas actinochloris culture after microwave irradiation].

Effect of the microwave irradiation on the subsequent development of the Chlamydomonas actinochloris culture is studied. The number of cells in the suspension was controlled and photoluminescence measurements were performed for 25 days to estimate the functional state of the cells. The exposure at a dose of 80 J/g is shown to negligibly affect the green alga, whereas the 122 J/g dose led to deterioration of the functional state and, thereafter, to the death of most cells.

[Narrow hybrid zone between Moscow and Western Dvina chromosomal races and specific features of population isolation in common shrew Sorex araneus (mammalia)].

The contact zone between Moscow and Western Dvina chromosomal races of common shrew Sorex araneus L. at the south of the Valdai Hights was traced over a distance of 20 km. Within this, close to parapatric, contact zone of chromosomal races the width of sympatry zone was about 500 m (the narrowest among currently known hybrid zones), and the proportion of hybrids was 24.

[Role of the centers of health in prevention of socially significant noninfectious diseases in persons of elderly and senile age].

This article presents the results of screening study of population in the Centre of health. It shows that 33,61% of persons involved into the study are people of elderly and senile age interesting the information about risk factors of development of cardiovascular diseases. The screening research has revealed about 19% persons of elderly and senile age without cardiovascular diseases but with risk factors of their development, who need the prevention of diseases.

[The microsatellite polymorphism and gene flow in the contact zone of four common shrew (Sorex araneus L., Mammalia) chromosome races].

The variation of microsatellite loci in 130 individuals of four common shrew chromosome races (Moscow, Western Dvina, Seliger, and St. Petersburg) contacting on the Valdai Hills was studied. A low level of genetic differences between the chromosome races, which differ at three-five fixed diagnostic metacentric chromosomes, was found.

[Genetic and morphological variation in a partially isolated population of Caucasian shrew sorex Satunini (Mammalia)].

Morphological and genetic variation at microsatellite loci of Caucasian shrew Sorex satunini Ogn. is examined and compared with that of the common shrew S. araneus L.

[Economic assessment of the use of biological medications in military medicine].

By the example of rheumatoid arthritis was considered the methods of economic assessment of advisability of modern biological medication usage in military medicine. The usage of these medications leads to quick clinical response, decrease of the additional medication intake, decrease of the average duration of treatment, "move aside" time of permanent disablement. Modern active therapy can increase the effectiveness of treatment; improve the quality of life, decrease the average duration of hospital stay, following treatment expense and welfare payment for this category of ill.

[The complex approach to the rehabilitation of post-stroke patients with movement disorders in the early rehabilitation period].

We studied 110 patients, aged 34-71 years, in the early rehabilitation period after stroke who were admitted to a rehabilitation neurologic department of Kazan. The rehabilitation approach was based on the combination of several methods: kinesitherapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation and cerebrolysin treatment. This complex reanimation allowed to achieve the marked functional restoration of movement abilities in many cases that was correlated with the normalization of brain bioelectric activity (the increase of alpha-rhythm spectral power, the decrease of slow-wave EEG components).

[The results of the baseline therapy of the rheumatoid arthritis].

Retrospective comparative analysis of therapy of the rheumatoid arthritis was undertaken. The following variants of antiphlogistic prescription: inactive tactics (long-lasting administration of one medicine), tactics of protracted treatment (separate courses of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs with long breaks between them), tactics of first aid (at the beginning "passive treatments", after the appearance of complications begun active therapy with cytostatics); tactics of pyramid (the order of the prescription of medicines corresponds to classical strategy of baseline therapy with short breaks during the treatment), tactics of active therapy (the early beginning of baseline therapy with consistent change of medicine); effectiveness and safety of long-lasting administration of antiphlogistic in complex therapy of the rheumatoid arthritis.

[Morphogenetic bases and parametric system of trichome evolution in plants of the genus Draba L].

Using quantitative morphological analysis of light microscopy data, the normal variation of trichome morphogenesis is studied in six whitlow grass species (Draba L.) and the morphological variation of adult trichomes in 11 species. The evolution consists in the transition from a radial morphogenesis pattern to bilateral and replacement of complex (branched) trichome rays with simple (unbranched) rays.

[Geometry and mechanics of the morphogenesis of active membranes on the example of plant trichome cells of the genus Draba L].

The stages of the early morphogenesis of simple (unbranched) and complex (branched) unicellular trichomes are studied in two species of the genus Draba--D. sibirica (Pall.) Thell.

[Luminescent control of the functional condition of Vallisneria spiralis L. treated by microwave irradiation].

The influence of microwave emission on the Vallisneria spiralis L. photoluminescence (PL) is studied. It is found that the irradiation leads to degradation of all the luminescence spectrum bands.

[Pharmacotherapeutic assessment of antiosteoporotic properties of alpha-calcidol in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease].

Aim: To evaluate antiresorptive properties of alphacalcidol in the treatment of osteopenic syndrome in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Material And Methods: A total of 94 COPD patients with low densitometric indices were studied for bone densitometric parameters, calcium-phosphorus metabolism, markers of bone tissue metabolism (osteocalcine-OC, tartrate-resistent acid phosphatase--TRAP, beta CrossLaps - BCL), cytokine profile in the course of 6-month continuous therapy with alpha-calcidol (alpha-D3-TEVA) in a dose 0.75-1 mcg/day.

[Relations between VDR3 and COL1A1 genes and markers of bone tissue metabolism in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease].

Aim: To study correlation between polymorphism of the genes of vitamin D3 (VDR3), collagen of type 1 alpha-1 (COL1A1) and markers of bone tissue metabolism in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Material And Methods: A total of 56 COPD patients were examined. Bone metabolism was evaluated by osteocalcin (OC) level and betaCL in the blood; BsmI polymorphism of gene VDR3 (genotypes BB, Bb, bb) and Sp1 polymorphism of gene COL1A1 (genotypes SS, Ss, ss)--by polymerase chain reaction. The control group consisted of 50 healthy persons of matched gender and age.

[Modification of a method for determining the cytotoxic activity of lymphocytes--natural killers in space experiments].

A space modification of a method for determining the cytotoxic activity of natural killers (NK) uses cultures of human lymphocytes and re-inoculated suspension of tumorous myeloblasts K-562. The 3H-uridine labeled target-cells fixated in 0.1 % formalin solution proved to be best suited to the conditions prohibiting regular recharge of cultural medium and utilization of radioactive agents.

[Inhibition of inorganic pyrophosphatase from Escherichia coli with inorganic phosphate].

The interaction of inorganic pyrophosphatase from E. coli with inorganic phosphate (Pi) was studied in a wide concentration range of phosphate. The apoenzyme gives two inactive compounds with Pi, a product of phosphorylation of the carboxylic group of the active site and a stable complex, which can be detected in the presence of the substrate.

[Production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies to group-specific antigenic determinant of group A streptococcal polysaccharides].

Hybridomas producing monoclonal antibodies (McAb) to group A streptococcal polysaccharide (A-PS) were obtained. Of these, 3 clones were selected: 2 clones producing IgG3, precipitating McAb and 1 clone producing IgM nonprecipitating McAb. The results of the competitive inhibition in the enzyme immunoassay suggested that precipitating and nonprecipitating McAb reacted with nonidentical epitopes of A-PS, though determinants, specifically reacting with the given McAb, had a common site which included N-acetyl-D-glucosamine.
