Background & Objectives: The persistence of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV)-2 pandemic, partly due to the appearance of highly infectious variants, has made booster vaccinations necessary for vulnerable groups. Here, we present data regarding the decline of the SARS-CoV-2 BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine-induced humoral immune response in a monocentric cohort of MS patients.

Methods: 96 MS patients undergoing eight different DMTs, all without previous SARS-CoV-2 infection, were evaluated for anti-Spike IgG levels, 21 days (T1) and 5-6 months (T2) after the second SARS-CoV-2 BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine dose.

Background: Studying otolith functions after unilateral vestibular neuritis using ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials and subjective visual vertical tests could give different results.

Method: A total of 39 patients underwent a vestibular assessment that included the Dizziness Handicap Inventory and horizontal and vertical semicircular canal function testing with video head impulse testing, ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potential testing, cervical vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials and subjective visual vertical testing.

Results: All patients showed a significant alteration (asymmetry ratio more than 40 per cent) for ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials as well as for subjective visual vertical testing (more than -2° to more than +2°) during the acute phase, whereas after 72 hours from the acute vertigo attack normal values (asymmetry ratio less than 40 per cent) were found in 6 out of 39 patients for ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials and 36 out of 39 for the subjective visual vertical (less than -2° to less than +2°).

Background: Several concerns exist on the immunogenicity of SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in multiple sclerosis (MS) subjects due to their immunomodulating disease modifying therapies (DMTs). Here we report a comparison of the humoral response to BNT162b2-mRNA coronavirus (COVID)-19 vaccine and the immunological phenotype in a cohort of 125 MS subjects undergoing different DMTs, with no history of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Methods: We collected serum and blood samples at the first day of vaccine (T0) and 21 days after the second vaccine dose (T1) from 125 MS subjects, undergoing eight different DMTs.

Aim And Objective: The aim of this study is to provide preliminary retrospective evidence concerning the histologic and histomorphometric outcome of a novel freeze-dried equine-derived bone paste (EDEBEX) for ridge preservation of sockets following tooth extraction.

Materials And Methods: This pilot retrospective case series describes the histologic and histomorphometric outcome of three patients who received the equine-derived bone paste in post-extractive sockets to allow the preservation of the alveolar ridge. Our recent study has revealed six plant extracts that slow yeast chronological aging more efficiently than any chemical compound yet described. The rate of aging in yeast is controlled by an evolutionarily conserved network of integrated signaling pathways and protein kinases. Here, we assessed how single-gene-deletion mutations eliminating each of these pathways and kinases affect the aging-delaying efficiencies of the six plant extracts.

The brain remains one of the most important but least understood tissues in our body, in part because of its complexity as well as the limitations associated with in vivo studies. Although simpler tissues have yielded to the emerging tools for in vitro 3D tissue cultures, functional brain-like tissues have not. We report the construction of complex functional 3D brain-like cortical tissue, maintained for months in vitro, formed from primary cortical neurons in modular 3D compartmentalized architectures with electrophysiological function.

The cortical circuitry in the brain consists of structurally and functionally distinct neuronal assemblies with reciprocal axon connections. To generate cell culture-based systems that emulate axon tract systems of an in vivo neural network, we developed a living neural circuit consisting of compartmentalized neuronal populations connected by arrays of two millimeter-long axon tracts that are integrated on a planar multi-electrode array (MEA). The millimeter-scale node-to-node separation allows for pharmacological and electrophysiological manipulations to simultaneously target multiple neuronal populations.

This case report describes the diagnosis and management of a 43-year-old female patient who had sustained an injury to her neck in a motor-vehicle accident two years earlier. The major symptoms described by the patient included headache and neck pain, but history and examination also revealed signs and symptoms potentially indicative of cervical artery compromise. Physical therapy management initially consisted of soft tissue and non-thrust joint manipulation of the lower cervical and thoracic spine, specific exercise prescription, and superficial heat.

Fetal liver tyrosine kinase 3 (FLT3) mutations represent a powerful prognostic indicator in acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Further, interaction between FLT3 and its ligand plays a role in normal hematopoiesis.
