Background: Previous studies have been inconclusive concerning the effect of active transport on BMI. Our objective was to investigate the association between travel mode and BMI in a large community-based sample of Danish adolescents.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey on health and lifestyle was distributed to all pupils from the 7th to 9th grade (12-16 years of age) in the municipality of Odense, Denmark.
The aim of this study was to investigate sensitivity and specificity of self-administrated tests aimed at pain provocation of posterior and/or anterior pelvis pain and to investigate pain intensity during and after palpation of the symphysis. A total of 175 women participated in the study, 100 pregnant women with and 25 pregnant women without lumbopelvic back pain and 50 non-pregnant women. Standard pain provocation tests were compared with self assessed tests.

The ATPase complex of the thermophilic cyanobacterium Synechococcus 6716, partially purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation, was fractionated in the presence of the detergent octylglucoside. The ATPase complex containing fractions were eluted by a linear NaCl gradient at about 0.

In accordance with this, fibrinogen digestion products could be purified by affinity chromatography from plasma after incubation with granulocyte enzymes. The isolated products resembled early X-like fibrinogen fragments, which are produced by limited digestion of purified fibrinogen with elastase.

X fragments were characterized with respect to amino-terminal amino acids, polypeptide-chain composition, anticlotting properties and calcium-binding. Amino-terminal amino acids were alanine and tyrosine.

The study highlights associated duodenal anomalies which seem to influence the radiological but not the clinical cure rate. The findings can be contrasted with those in adults who have duodenal abnormalities with sliding hiatal hernias in that 21 out of 29 infants with sliding hiatal hernia had a normal duodenal loop.
