A quantitative survey of correctional mental health professionals on current healthcare and treatment practices for transgender incarcerated persons.

There is a need for updated survey literature collected from correctional mental health professionals working within prison settings. Up to date research can add to the literature addressing the best practices for mental health treatment of the transgender incarcerated population in order to provide health care professionals and correctional staff with more effective, efficient, and widely understood intervention practices to facilitate the well-being and safety of this population. Guided by three research aims, 50 mental health professionals from 21 states throughout the United States were surveyed in this quantitative survey regarding their work with the transgender incarcerated population.

Colorectal Cancer Screening Prevalence, Perceived Barriers, and Preference for Screening Colonoscopy Among Hospitalized Women.

Unlabelled: Barriers to colorectal cancer screening persist despite screening campaigns, especially among women. This study explores the prevalence, preferences, and barriers associated with colorectal cancer screening and evaluates the effect of an inpatient intervention (one-on-one bedside education and handout about colorectal cancer) on screening adherence among hospitalized women.

Methods: A prospective intervention study among 510 hospitalized women, who are cancer-free (except for skin cancer) at enrollment, aged between 50 and 75 years was conducted at an academic center.

A Synthetic Interaction between CDC20 and RAD4 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae upon UV Irradiation.

Regulation of DNA repair can be achieved through ubiquitin-mediated degradation of transiently induced proteins. In Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Rad4 is involved in damage recognition during nucleotide excision repair (NER) and, in conjunction with Rad23, recruits other proteins to the site of damage. We identified a synthetic interaction upon UV exposure between Rad4 and Cdc20, a protein that modulates the activity of the anaphase promoting complex (APC/C), a multisubunit E3 ubiquitin ligase complex.
