Background: Health information is a prerequisite for informed choices-decisions, made by individuals about their own health based on knowledge and in congruence with own preferences. Criteria for development, content and design have been defined in a corresponding guideline. However, no instruments exist that provide reasonably operationalised measurement items.

Purpose: NIS HELENA documented outcomes in clinical routine practice of first-line therapy with P plus T and docetaxel (D) of patients with advanced HER2-positive BC and prior (neo)adjuvant T.

Methods: Between 06/2013 through 07/2016, 126 patients (in-label use of P at study start = full analysis set, FAS) in 81 German study sites were included. Intense documentation period was limited to 28 treatment cycles.

Aim: The multicentre non-interventional AVANTI study assessed safety, effectiveness and patient-reported outcomes with approved first-line bevacizumab-containing regimens for HER2-negative locally recurrent/metastatic breast cancer (LR/MBC) in German routine oncology practice.

Methods: Eligible patients had HER2-negative LR/MBC, no bevacizumab contraindications and no prior chemotherapy for LR/MBC. Chemotherapy schedule, diagnostics and follow-up were at physicians' discretion.

Background: Protroca evaluated the efficacy and safety of primary and secondary prophylaxis of neutropenia with lipegfilgrastim (Lonquex®) in breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy (CT).

Patients And Methods: Of the 255 patients enrolled, 248 patients were evaluable for the intent-to-treat (ITT) and 194 patients for the per-protocol set. Primary and secondary end points after lipegfilgrastim treatment were assessed.

Introduction: Health information is a prerequisite of informed decision-making. Criteria for development, content and presentation have recently been published in a corresponding guideline. Within a systematic search, 27 relevant checklists were identified, none of them, however, complying with the guideline or providing reasonably operationalised measurement items.

Background/aim: HER2-positive breast cancers eventually relapse in about one third of patients. Is anti-HER2-directed therapy with Herceptin® (trastuzumab) effective in re-treatment? Between 2008 and 2018, 216 patients with recurrent HER2-positive breast cancer (BC) were re-treated with Herceptin (HER) during first-line therapy. This study assessed the effectiveness and tolerability of re-treatment with HER.

Background: Although injuries to the head represent a small proportion of all sport injuries, they are of great concern due to their potential long-term consequences, which are even suspected in mild traumatic brain injuries.

Objective: The aim of this review was to compare the incidence of concussions and other head injuries in elite level football, rugby, ice hockey and American Football.

Methods: Four electronic databases (CINAHL, PsycINFO, Web of Science, PubMed) were searched.

Background: Lyme borreliosis develops in 1-5% of individuals bitten by ticks, but with a diagnostic gap affecting up to 30% of patients, a broadly applicable pharmacological prevention strategy is needed. Topical azithromycin effectively eradicated Borrelia burgdorferi sensu lato from the skin in preclinical studies. We assessed its efficacy in human beings.

Background: This study examined the association of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and C-reactive protein (CRP) with postoperative medical complications and one year mortality of elderly patients sustaining a low-energy cervical hip fracture scheduled for surgery. We hypothesized that vitamin D deficiency and CRP in these patients might be associated with an increased 1-year mortality.

Methods: The prospective single-center cohort study included 209 patients with a low-energy medial femoral neck fracture; 164 women aged over 50 years and 45 men aged over 60 years.

New biomaterials including surface modifications should undergo in vitro and in vivo evaluation before clinical trials. The objective of our in vivo study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of one of the newly fabricated zirconia implant surfaces, called "mds". For this purpose, the osseointegration of these implants was analyzed after implantation in surgically created defects in the cranium of adult male rats.

MicroRNA (miRNA) are a newly recognized class of small, noncoding RNA molecules that participate in the developmental control of gene expression. We have studied the regulation of a set of highly expressed neural miRNA during mouse brain development. Temporal control is a characteristic of miRNA regulation in C.

Objectives: This study evaluated the microleakage and internal seal of fissure sealants placed by use of self-etching priming agents in comparison to phosphoric acid etching of enamel.

Methods: Seventy-two caries-free extracted human molars were divided into six groups with 12 teeth each. Occlusal surfaces were cleansed by either pumicing (Groups I, III, V) or by 15-s air-abrasion treatment with 25 microm aluminum oxide particles (Groups II, IV, VI).

Background And Objective: The objective of the study was to evaluate the use of a medical surgical zipper (Medizip) for wound closure under tension in comparison to conventional cutaneous sutures. The surgical zipper is supposed to reduce wound tension by approximating of the wound edges via epidermal traction.

Patients/methods: This prospective study included patients with a wound diameter of more than 1 cm.

In investigating mechanisms underlying intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), circulating melatonin and cortisol were radioimmunoassayed. Blood samples were collected every 4 hours during 24 hours on a strict 24-hour standardized routine in hospital from two groups of women in their third trimester of pregnancy. One group consisted of 14 healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies (HAGA); the other group consisted of 11 pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) confirmed at birth.

A gradient reversed-phase HPLC analysis for the direct measurement of gemfibrozil (GEM) and four oxidative metabolites in plasma and urine of humans and in tissue homogenates of rats was developed. The corresponding acyl glucuronides and the covalently bound protein adducts (in protein precipitates) were determined after liberation from the respective conjugates via alkaline hydrolysis. The limits of detection for the covalent adducts in human plasma are: 10 ng ml(-1) (GEM), 20 ng ml(-1) (M1), 0.
