Background: Health information is a prerequisite for informed choices-decisions, made by individuals about their own health based on knowledge and in congruence with own preferences. Criteria for development, content and design have been defined in a corresponding guideline. However, no instruments exist that provide reasonably operationalised measurement items.

Dual HER2 blockade with pertuzumab (P) and trastuzumab (T) in patients with HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer (mBC) relapsing after adjuvant treatment with T: results from a German non-interventional study (NIS) HELENA (NCT01777958).

Purpose: NIS HELENA documented outcomes in clinical routine practice of first-line therapy with P plus T and docetaxel (D) of patients with advanced HER2-positive BC and prior (neo)adjuvant T.

Methods: Between 06/2013 through 07/2016, 126 patients (in-label use of P at study start = full analysis set, FAS) in 81 German study sites were included. Intense documentation period was limited to 28 treatment cycles.

Ready for SDM- evaluation of an interprofessional training module in shared decision making - A cluster randomized trial.

Objective: Ready for SDM was developed in Norway as a comprehensive modularized curriculum for health care providers (HCP). The current study evaluated the efficacy of one of the modules, a 2-hour interprofessional SDM training designed to enhance SDM competencies.

Methods: A cluster randomized controlled trial was conducted with eight District Psychiatric Centres randomized to wait-list control (CG) or intervention group (IG).

First-line bevacizumab-containing therapy for HER2-negative locally advanced/metastatic breast cancer: Real-world experience from >2000 patients treated in the multicentre AVANTI study.

Aim: The multicentre non-interventional AVANTI study assessed safety, effectiveness and patient-reported outcomes with approved first-line bevacizumab-containing regimens for HER2-negative locally recurrent/metastatic breast cancer (LR/MBC) in German routine oncology practice.

Methods: Eligible patients had HER2-negative LR/MBC, no bevacizumab contraindications and no prior chemotherapy for LR/MBC. Chemotherapy schedule, diagnostics and follow-up were at physicians' discretion.

Background: Protroca evaluated the efficacy and safety of primary and secondary prophylaxis of neutropenia with lipegfilgrastim (Lonquex®) in breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant or adjuvant chemotherapy (CT).

Patients And Methods: Of the 255 patients enrolled, 248 patients were evaluable for the intent-to-treat (ITT) and 194 patients for the per-protocol set. Primary and secondary end points after lipegfilgrastim treatment were assessed.

Background: This study examined the association of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and C-reactive protein (CRP) with postoperative medical complications and one year mortality of elderly patients sustaining a low-energy cervical hip fracture scheduled for surgery. We hypothesized that vitamin D deficiency and CRP in these patients might be associated with an increased 1-year mortality.

In investigating mechanisms underlying intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR), circulating melatonin and cortisol were radioimmunoassayed. Blood samples were collected every 4 hours during 24 hours on a strict 24-hour standardized routine in hospital from two groups of women in their third trimester of pregnancy. One group consisted of 14 healthy, uncomplicated pregnancies (HAGA); the other group consisted of 11 pregnancies complicated by intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) confirmed at birth.

Gemfibrozil and its oxidative metabolites: quantification of aglycones, acyl glucuronides, and covalent adducts in samples from preclinical and clinical kinetic studies.
