Men who have sex with men (MSM) experience a high degree of discrimination and marginalization in Senegal. Homophobia is pervasive in Senegalese society at the cultural, religious, and political levels. Its effects are reflected in the disproportionately high levels of depression, anxiety, and substance abuse among men who have sex with men when compared to the general population.

This paper aims to explore the contributions of research that include gender perspective in analysing the sexual experiences of women diagnosed with serious mental illness and to identify any barriers and systems that impede sexual fulfilment. We have developed a qualitative literature review using the PRISMA statement. The databases SCOPUS, WOS and PsychINFO were used in this review.

Objective: To identify predictors of progression of precerebral atherosclerosis in long-term period after coronary artery bypass surgery.

Material And Methods: There were 97 procedures of carotid endarterectomy in patients after previous coronary artery bypass grafting for the period from 2006 to 2017. Inclusion criteria were previous CABG, no significant (over 60%) stenosis of internal carotid arteries at discharge after CABG.

Objective: To analyze long-term outcomes of CABG in young patients, incidence and structure of adverse cardiovascular events depending on patients' age.

Material And Methods: There were 175 young patients (up to 44 years old in accordance with WHO classification) who underwent CABG for the period from 2006 to 2016. The control group included 175 patients aged 45 years and older who were randomly selected among patients operated in the same period.

Aim: To analyze the predictors of complications within 3 years after carotid endarterectomy (CEE).

Material And Methods: The study included 1035 patients after CEE for the period 2011-2016. Long-term follow-up period was 42.

Purpose: Determination of clinical and instrumental predictors of progressive course of multifocal atherosclerosis (MFA) in patients one year after myocardial infarction (MI), initially having hemodynamically insignificant stenoses of carotid arteries.

Materials And Methods: From database of patients with acute coronary syndrome treated in the Kemerovo Regional Clinical Cardiac Dispensary in 2009-2010 we selected for this study 141 patients with verified diagnosis of MI and hemodynamically insignificant lesions in the internal carotid artery (ICA) (stenosis up ≤ 55 %). All patients had coronary atherosclerosis verified on coronary angiography at admission because of MI.

The aim of this study was comparative assessment of in-hospital outcomes after hybrid and staged surgical management of patients presenting with haemodynamically significant lesions of the coronary (CA) and brachiocephalic arteries (BCA) treated by means of either endovascular or surgical techniques. Over the period from 2010 to 2017, we operated on a total of 197 patients with stenotic lesions of the carotid and coronary arteries. The strategy of revascularization included transcutaneous coronary intervention (TCI) and carotid endarterectomy (CEA).

Aim: To compare in-hospital outcomes of carotid endarterectomy (CEE) in patients with different lesion of contralateral internal carotid artery (ICA).

Material And Methods: There were 730 CEE procedures in patients with bilateral ICA lesion for the period 2011-2016. All patients were divided into 4 groups depending on contralateral ICA stenosis grade: group 1 - stenosis up to 60% (42.

An algorithm and a personal computer program for automatic distinguishing between EEC records containing evoked and no potentials, based on the detected invariants reflecting experts' experience in evoked potential analysis have been developed. The efficiency of the programme (its high accuracy and speed, low volume) has been demonstrated in the system for automatic determination of the hearing level by long-latent evoked potentials. It is easily modifiable to identify evoked potentials from other modalities (visual, somatosensory ones) in the systems using the traditional and/or up-to-date computerized EEC equipment.

Audiometric examination of 51 patients with aggravated multiple sclerosis included pure-tone threshold audiometry, assessment, of speech intensity function, of adaptation, masking, sound laterality, impedance tympanomanometry, perception of complicated speech, registration of short-latency acoustic evoked potentials. Acoustic analyzer disfunction, especially that of sound laterality, was discovered in 42-83% and 68% of patients, respectively. The hearing system was affected most frequently at the level of brain stem and occasionally at the level of the cochlea (15%).

Hearing thresholds at speech frequencies in children with neurosensory hypoacusis were measured by three methods: orientation reflex (OR), wink reflex (WR) and brain acoustic evoked responses (BERA). Hearing thresholds measured by recording OR and WR were compared in 115 children (232 comparisons) and were found to coincide in about 92% of cases. Hearing thresholds at speech frequencies were measured by recording OR, WR and BERA in 55 children (103 comparisons) and were found to coincide in about 70% of cases.

The authors analyzed the electroclinical data obtained in the surgical treatment by the open method of 104 children and adolescents with focal and multifocal epilepsy. The indications were frequent epileptic seizures, resistance to drug therapy, clear-cut clinical and electrophysiological correlations with regard to the localization of the epileptic focus. If nonoperative treatment has no effect, it is not advisable to delay surgical intervention by more than 1--2 years.

Topographic coordinates of the thalamus, caudate and lentiform nuclei of the human brain in relation to the medial-sagittal plane and inferior-medial part of the corpus callosum were studied in 70 preparations. The parameters under study are characterized by mean values of the variants and square deviations. Detailed tables of these values are given which may be employed in stereotaxical calculations for all coordinates, for men and women separately, for the right and left hemispheres, brachy- and mesencephaly.

According to the conceptual electrophysiological model for epilepsy worked out by the authors earlier (1968-1971) the development of the disease has the following stages: "epileptic" neurone epileptogenic focus epileptogenic system epileptic brain. The mechanisms of the II and III stages are analysed in the given paper. The critical volume of the neuronal population capable of functioning as a triggering focus is shown to be 10(3)-10(5) cells (Microsystem).
