Purpose: Cross-sectional imaging facilitates the assessment of transmural healing in patients with Crohn's disease. This systematic review addresses the utility of MRI and intestinal ultrasound (IUS) in the assessment of disease activity in response to drug therapy compared with endoscopy in patients with luminal Crohn's disease.
Methods: Database searches were undertaken using predefined terms.
Background: The economic burden of decompensated chronic liver disease (CLD) on Australian healthcare services is poorly characterised.
Aims: To evaluate the in-patient healthcare utilisation costs associated with decompensated CLD at Monash Health, an Australian tertiary healthcare service.
Methods: The current retrospective cost analysis examined patients with decompensated CLD admitted between 1 January 2012 and 31 December 2018.
Iatrogenic Stapfer type-1 duodenal perforations during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) typically necessitate surgical management and carry significant morbidity and mortality risk. Here, we present a case of a large duodenal perforation during ERCP managed endoscopically with an over-the-scope clip (OTSC) and describe the subsequent post-procedural management. An 80-year-old woman presented to the emergency department with acute cholangitis.
