Intestinal malrotation is a congenital anomaly characterized by rotational errors during the embryonic development of the midgut. Although it is mainly a pediatric diagnosis, some cases do present in adult life. In adults, the condition can present in various ways, with symptoms that may be acute, acute on chronic, chronic, or discovered incidentally.

It has previously been reported that nodal disease predicted recurrence in patients with nonmetastatic appendiceal adenocarcinomas, supporting diagnostic laparoscopy with right hemicolectomy for staging and assessment for risk of recurrence. In this update, we sought to identify predictors of nodal disease on initial diagnostic pathology in nonmetastatic adenocarcinomas.

Materials And Methods: Sixteen molar teeth indicated for extraction were randomly assigned into two groups. For the test group, sockets were packed with PDDM block and control group, with A-PRF+ plug alone.
A total of 20 atrophic maxillary sinuses were augmented with recombinant human platelet-derived growth factor BB (rhPDGF-BB), alloplast, and bovine xenograft using a direct approach. CBCT imaging was performed at baseline, immediately postoperatively, and at 6 and 30 months postoperatively. A histologic evaluation revealed the bone bridging and bone regenerative efficacy of the graft material.

Methods: A total of 24 patients, exhibiting multiple Miller's Class I or II recessions in the maxillary esthetic zone were included. Participants were divided into two groups, Group 1 was treated with VISTA & A-PRF+ block whereas Group 2 was with VISTA technique alone.

Background: Several bone grafting formulations have been given clinically acceptable outcomes in treating intrabony defects. Platelet rich fibrin (PRF), an autologous platelet concentrate holds potential to be used for regenerative treatment. The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical and radiographic outcomes in periodontal intrabony defects treated with advanced-PRF block (A PRF + i PRF + nanohydroxyapatite [nHA]) compared to nHA alone.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate and compare the efficacy of 4% mangosteen gel and a placebo gel as an adjunct to scaling and root planing (SRP) on clinical and biochemical parameters in chronic periodontitis patients.
Material And Methods: A total of 50 test sites from 25 patients with Stage II Grade B periodontitis were randomly divided into 2 groups.
A cross-sectional survey was undertaken in Belgian beef producing companies to study the current practices and the microbiological load of dry-aged loins (during production) and trimmed steaks (final product). In each company, the temperature and relative humidity of the ripening chamber were measured, and two loins (each in a different stage of the ripening process) were sampled. From the surface of each loin, a lean meat and adipose tissue sample was analysed separately, and different groups of bacteria, yeasts and moulds were enumerated.

Aim: The nanosurface parameter tweaking has been implicated with profound change in the microbiological and biological response.

Liquid or injectable platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is a second-generation platelet concentrate that is completely autologous and free of external additives, like bovine thrombin and calcium chloride. Additionally, it is the only one to be obtained in a liquid form among the second-generation platelet concentrates. This allows for wide applications such as maximizing injections or mixing with biomaterials such as bone grafts or antibiotics.

Materials And Methods: Injectable-PRF (i-PRF) was prepared by centrifugation of blood at 700 rpm for 3 minutes without any anti-coagulant in i-PRF tubes.
Saddle flap technique, a modified coronally advanced flap approach for isolated gingival recession management was introduced and assessed in terms of clinical efficacy and patient satisfaction. A total of 10 systemically healthy subjects with isolated gingival recession defect (Miller Class I and II) were enrolled in the study. The primary endpoint measure was patient satisfaction in terms of esthetics and percentage root coverage.

In recent years, Title X has been the subject of debate as its core tenants have been revised by the current administration. Though advocates have fought against these changes, the voices of survivors on intimate partner violence are absent from this conversation.

Studies have shown that oral healthcare is being neglected by general healthcare professionals, including nurses. With proper health-related behaviour, knowledge and attitude, they can play an important role in health education and act as a role model for patients.

Diabetes is a group of metabolic dysregulation, primarily of carbohydrate metabolism, characterized by hyperglycemia that results from defects in insulin secretion, impaired insulin action, or both. Systematic reviews and meta-analysis have shown that the prevalence of periodontitis is increased in diabetic patients.

This study quantified cefotaxime-resistant E. coli (CREC) on nine different carcass areas of 104 freshly slaughtered pig carcasses. In 49% [95% confidence interval (95% CI): 29-69%] of the carcasses CREC could be isolated and enumerated (using Tryptone Bile Agar with X-Glucuronide supplemented with 1 mg/L cefotaxime).

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the efficacy of the vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access (VISTA) technique with collagen membrane, bioactive glass, and platelet-rich fibrin. A total of 22 systemically and periodontally healthy subjects with multiple gingival recession defects (Miller Class I and II) in the maxillary esthetic zone were enrolled in the study. The primary outcome measures were mean root coverage and alteration in gingival thickness.

Association of diabetes and periodontitis is widely proven and can influence each other in the development and progression of the disease and its complications, which are largely preventable. Hence, if data could be collected on the knowledge and awareness about the association between DM and periodontal disease, the results could be applied in creating public health campaigns and can bring about lifestyle modification among people.
