Recombinant fungal immunomodulatory protein, reFIP-gts, was cloned from Ganoderma tsugae and purified. In our previous study, it was shown that reFIP-gts has anti-telomerase effects in A549 cells. Here, we proved that reFIP-gts entry into the cell and localization in endoplasmic reticulum can result in ER stress, thereby increasing ER stress markers (CHOP/GADD153) and intracellular calcium release in A549 cells.
