Viral mimicry refers to the activation of innate anti-viral immune responses due to the induction of endogenous retroelement (RE) expression. Viral mimicry has been previously described to augment anti-tumor immune responses and sensitize solid tumors to immunotherapy including colorectal cancer, melanoma, and clear renal cell carcinoma. Background: Single ventricle (SV) patients with interrupted inferior vena cava (iIVC) and azygos continuation are at high risk for unbalanced hepatic venous flow (HVF) distribution to the lungs after Fontan completion and subsequent pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) formation.

The impact of aortic valve stenosis (AS) extends beyond the vicinity of the narrowed leaflets into the left ventricle (LV) and into the systemic vasculature because of highly unpredictable valve behavior and complex blood flow in the ascending aorta that can be attributed to the strong interaction between the narrowed cusps and the ejected blood. These effects can become exacerbated during exercise and may have implications for disease progression, accurate diagnosis, and timing of intervention.
