Comparative Evaluation of Intradermal -- Intramuscular Pre-Exposure Prophylactic Vaccination against Rabies in Cattle.

Rabies is a progressively fatal viral disease affecting a wide variety of warm-blooded animals and human beings. With cattle being major part of Indian livestock population, rabies can result in significant financial losses. Immunization of livestock vulnerable to exposure is the best way to control rabies.

Efficacy and safety of an open lung ventilation strategy with staircase recruitment followed by comparison on two different modes of ventilation, in moderate ARDS in cirrhosis: A pilot randomized trial.

Background: Mechanical ventilation in cirrhosis with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is not widely studied. We aimed to study the effect of the staircase recruitment manoeuvre followed by two different modes of ventilation.

Methods: Thirty patients with cirrhosis with moderate ARDS underwent the staircase recruitment manoeuvre followed by randomisation to volume control or pressure control group.

Epidemiological & clinical characteristics & early outcome of COVID-19 patients in a tertiary care teaching hospital in India: A preliminary analysis.

Background & Objectives: In this study we describe the epidemiological data, comorbidities, clinical symptoms, severity of illness and early outcome of patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from a tertiary care teaching hospital in New Delhi, India.

Methods: In this preliminary analysis of a prospective observational study, all adult patients admitted to the screening intensive care unit (ICU) of the institute who fulfilled the WHO case definition of COVID-19 and confirmed to have SARS-CoV-2 infection by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction were included. Demographics, clinical data and 24 h outcome were assessed.

Relevance of Split Fertilization-Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection Method of Insemination in Normozoospermic and Mildly Oligospermic Men: A Retrospective Study.

Background: Use of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is generally considered redundant in cases of normozoospermia, or mild male factor cases of infertility and conventional method of insemination is advocated. However, there is a risk of low fertilization or total fertilization failure (TFF) and to avoid this, split fertilization (IVF)-ICSI method of insemination is advised. In our study, we have shown that not only TFF is avoided with split method of insemination, but also cancellation of embryo transfer (ET) can be avoided in a significant number of IVF cycles.

Rheological and Electrical Study of a Composite Material Based on an Epoxy Polymer Containing Cyclotriphosphazene.

In this work, we have studied, formulated, prepared, and characterized the rheological and electrical behavior of a composite material based on an epoxy resin Diglycidyl Ether of Bisphenol A (DGEBA) reinforced with hexaglycidyl cyclotriphosphazene (HGCP). The epoxy system was cured with 4,4'-methylene dianiline (MDA). DGEBA-HGCP-MDA epoxy composite materials with reinforced HGCP which varied from 5% to 10% by weight were prepared by mixing in the molten state.

Anticorrosive properties of Hexa (3-methoxy propan-1,2-diol) cyclotri-phosphazene compound for carbon steel in 3% NaCl medium: gravimetric, electrochemical, DFT and Monte Carlo simulation studies.

The corrosion inhibition performance of Hexa (3-methoxy propan-1,2 diol) cyclotriphosphazene (HMC) on carbon steel in 3% NaCl solution was investigated by weight loss (WL), potentiodynamic polarization (PDP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measurements, Density functional theory (DFT) and Monte Carlo (MC) simulation. The corrosion inhibition efficiency at optimum concentration (10M) is 99% of HMC at 298 K. The corrosion inhibition efficiency at 10 M decreases with increase in temperature.

Primary Amyloidosis - In a Case with Normal Plasma Cell Counts.

Amyloidosis is a group of disease that is characterized by the deposition of extracellular abnormal proteinaceous material (amyloid), in various organs. Amyloidosis involving the liver is common and the radiological findings are often nonspecific. We present the case of a 40-year-old female who presented with abdominal pain.

Ectopic Parathyroid Adenoma Presenting as a Mediastinal Mass.

A parathyroid adenoma present in an ectopic site, in the anterior mediastinum, is a rare cause of persistent hyperparathyroidism. Though its occurrence in the mediastinum is unusual, existence has been noted in literature for more than a century. We describe a case of a 35-year-old male presenting with complaints of pain abdomen, clinically diagnosed as acute necrotizing pancreatitis, with raised serum calcium.
