Development of cell culture system from the giant freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii (de Man).

A new cell culture system (MRH) was developed for the first time from 2 months old freshwater prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Primary cultures were developed from heart tissues by explant culture technique. Cell outgrowth was obtained from the heart explant after 14 days of explant culture.
