Importance: Neurofeedback has been proposed for the treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) but the efficacy of this intervention remains unclear.

Objective: To conduct a meta-analysis of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) using probably blinded (ie, rated by individuals probably or certainly unaware of treatment allocation) or neuropsychological outcomes to test the efficacy of neurofeedback as a treatment for ADHD in terms of core symptom reduction and improved neuropsychological outcomes.

Data Sources: PubMed (MEDLINE), Ovid (PsycInfo, MEDLINE, Embase + Embase Classic), and Web of Science, as well as the reference lists of eligible records and relevant systematic reviews, were searched until July 25, 2023, with no language limits.

This study reports the serendipitous discovery of intermolecular anionic mixed-valence (MV) and π-dimer species in ortho-pentannulated BisAzaCoroneneDiimides (BACDs) during their electrochemical reduction in a non-aqueous solvent. A library of nitrogen-containing extended PDIs was synthesized via an aza-benzannulation reaction followed by a Pd-catalysed ortho-pentannulation reaction. Ortho-pentannulated BACDs revealed strong aggregation abilities in solution.

Contrast-enhanced 3D gradient-recalled echo (GRE) T1-weighted imaging (WI) and 3D turbo spin echo (TSE) T1-WI are both available for clinical practice and have never been compared within the context of this diagnosis.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare contrast-enhanced 3D GRE T1-WI and 3D TSE T1-WI for the detection of enhancing lesions in the brains of MS patients.

Statistical learning guides visual attention within iconic memory.

The present study investigated interactions between iconic memory and long-term memory during visual search. The contextual cueing paradigm was combined with a brief presentation procedure to determine whether statistical learning takes place from flashed displays and acts as a cue to guide spatial attention within iconic memory in subsequent visual search. In five experiments, participants were exposed to search displays that were presented for only 50 ms and had to detect a target among 11 distractors.

The fate of visual long term memories for images across weeks in adults and children.

What is the content and the format of visual memories in Long Term Memory (LTM)? Is it similar in adults and children? To address these issues, we investigated, in both adults and 9-year-old children, how visual LTM is affected over time and whether visual vs semantic features are affected differentially. In a learning phase, participants were exposed to hundreds of meaningless and meaningful images presented once or twice for either 120 ms or 1920 ms. Memory was assessed using a recognition task either immediately after learning or after a delay of three or six weeks.

In this paper, we project Skills in Literacy Adjusted Mean Years of Schooling (SLAMYS) for the working age population in 45 countries and quinquennial time periods until 2050 according to various population scenarios. Moreover, we integrate the effect of school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic on these projections. Adult skills are projected using the cohort components method.

Contrast-enhanced CT texture analysis for the prediction of delayed graft function following kidney transplantation from cadaveric donors.

Objective: Delayed graft function (DGF) is a common complication after transplantation of deceased donor kidneys. The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using computed tomography texture analysis (CT-TA) of the donor kidney to predict delayed graft function (DGF) following kidney transplantation from cadaveric donors.

Materials And Methods: We made a retrospective review of all consecutive DBD and DCD kidney donors admitted to our institution and their corresponding KTRs between December 2014 and January 2019.

Relationship between uterine veins, ureter, and hypogastric nerve for uterine transplantation: An anatomic study.

Uterine transplantation is on the rise worldwide. In contrast to its arterial anatomy, venous drainage of the uterus is poorly defined in the literature. Our aim was to provide a standardized description of uterine veins through a multimodal approach to establish anatomical landmarks for the uterine transplantation surgeon.

An investigation of palladium-catalyzed Stille-type cross-coupling of nitroarenes in perylenediimide series.

We report herein an unprecedented palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction between mononitro-perylenediimide (PDI) and various arylstannanes. Optimized conditions developed with this Stille-type reaction allow the grafting of (hetero)aryls of various electronic nature in the bay region of PDIs. Moreover, we capitalized on the high selectivity of this cross-coupling through the desymmetrization of the dinitro-PDI substrate.
