Recently, the share of children with verified neonatal hepatitis induced by genetic predisposition, malformations of biliary tracts, inborn infections with affection of hepatobiliary system increased. The comprehensive biochemical examination of 62 children aged from 1.5 months to 2 years old with diagnosis of neonatal hepatitis.

The biochemical criteria of the endogenous intoxication were investigated. Specific blood tests with antiviral drugs were conducted before the treatment and individual therapy schemes were assigned according to the tests' results.

Complete stable remission was achieved in 54.1% of patients in combination cycloferon with lamivudin, but the appointment of alpha-interferon with cycloferon provided remission 44.

It is shown that the antiviral therapy is accompanied by stimulation of the immune response as manifested by the synthesis of cytokines (IL-4, IFN-alpha, IFN-gamma) with retention of increased production of IFN-a for more than two years after the end of the course of treatment. In children that previously received interferon inductor (cycloferon) for 12 months, high level of IFN-a production is retained, which ensures antiviral protection.

The best therapeutic effect in the management of children with chronic virus hepatitis was provided by combined antiviral therapy of different action. In the treatment of babies the drugs of choice could be viferon or cycloferon, for the 2-year older children with chronic hepatitis B the combination of viferon + cycloferon should be recommended and for those with chronic hepatitis C the combination of interal + cycloferon could be used.

The main attention is paid to higher production of Th1 cytokines providing active protection of the host from HCV. The up-to-date approaches to the therapy of chronic hepatitis C, described in the literature and the original ones, including the triple therapy with immunomodulators of various mechanisms of action, i.

Randomization was achieved by the envelope method.

Presence of the protein-carrier contributed to elevation of the ribonuclease therapeutic efficiency and enabled to decrease the quantity of injections.

The effect of chemical modification of ribonuclease A on its catalytic properties was studied. The kinetic parameters were calculated by using the Eisental and Cornish-Bowden direct linear plot. The Km value found for ribonuclease A conjugates with human serum albumin are comparable with those for the native enzyme whereas the Vmax value of the modified enzyme exceeds the maximum velocity of the enzymatic reaction of native ribonuclease A.

The work deals with the results of the study of T-lymphocytes and their subpopulations (active, thermostable, theophylline-sensitive and theophylline-resistant) in 102 children with chronic viral hepatitis B, depending on the effectiveness of thymalin therapy. The sensitization of lymphocytes to specific antigens was studied. Among patients with chronic viral hepatitis B and cirrhosis of the liver the homozygous phenotype of haptoglobin is registered essentially more frequently (63.

The surface and foveal epithelium of the stomach as well as mucocytes of the fundal glands showed a drastically reduced content of the neutral carbohydrate component. The foveal epithelium and mucocytes of fundal necks also exhibited a significant decrease of the sulfomucin content.

The histochemical study of the stomach, small and large intestines and pancreas of rats flown aboard the biosatellite Cosmos-605 as well as of synchronous and vivarium controls demonstrated a significant decline in the mucine producing capacity of epithelial cells of the stomach of the flight rats on the R + 1 day. The study showed an increased content of sialo- and sulphosaccharides in goblet cells of cryptae of large intestine and a reduced content of free cation protein in the acinar cells of the pancreas of flight rats. The changes were transient and disappeared by the R + 26 day.
