[Clinical manifestations and social adaptation of patients with sluggish schizophrenia (epidemiologic study)].

Clinico-epidemiological studies were carried out in patients with sluggish schizophrenia, registered at the psychoneurological center in one of the districts of Tomsk. The prevalence of sluggish schizophrenia was determined with regard to the sex, age of the disease onset, and the clinical manifestations of the illness. Changes in the psychopathological manifestations were studied throughout the entire disease as were the characteristics of social adaptation of patients.

[Pulmonary reaction to foreign bodies].

The response of the pulmonary tissue in a continuous stay of foreign bodies in the lung is characterized by chronic inflammation of the pulmonary tissue, deformation of the bronchial tree, atrophic, hyperplastic and dystrophic changes in the ciliated epithelium and its metaplastic degeneration into multitratum squamous epithelium. Chronic inflammation of the lung would develop mainly in bronchial injury with a foreign body or in impaired bronchial patency. In localization of metallic foreign bodies extrabronchially their incapsulation usually occurs.
