The research aimed to evaluate the modified model of wave periodization efficiency in running speed tests conducted among soccer players aged 12 to 16. Participants included prospective players of a leading Polish top league soccer club. The research was carried out from 2018 to 2022 in June (Testing A) and December (Testing B) of each year.

The rate of fetal death in Poland in 2015 is 3:10,000. In 2020, 1,231 stillbirths were registered.

This comprehensive literature review aims to examine the role of biomarkers and understand the molecular mechanisms underlying PE. The review encompasses studies on biomarkers for predicting, diagnosing, and monitoring PE, focusing on their molecular mechanisms in maternal blood or urine samples.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFLower limb kinematics of the roundhouse kick is a well-known topic studied by many researchers. However, there is a lack of data about the velocity of the core and upper limbs during the execution of this technique. The aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in velocities of all crucial body segments while executing roundhouse kicks for both sides of the body.

The relationship between high sFlt-1/PlGF scores and LBW (low birth weight) was described. In this study, we attempted to assess whether uric acid could be used as a secondary marker in estimating the pregnancy risk associated with LBW.

In the era of increasing incidence of endometrial cancer in the general population of women at reproductive age, compared to other genital malignancies, we should not forget about other tumors originating from the mucous and muscular layer of the uterus. Clear ultrasonographic differentiation of uterine tumors into benign (myomas) and malignant (sarcomas) lesions may sometimes prove impossible.

Coronavirus disease-COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) has become the cause of the global pandemic in the last three years. Its etiological factor is SARS-CoV-2 (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus type 2). Patients with diabetes (DM-diabetes mellitus), in contrast to healthy people not suffering from chronic diseases, are characterised by higher morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19.

The aim of this study is to describe the level of vaccination acceptance, to find the factors that most influence the decision to vaccinate, and to describe the scale of changes in vaccination acceptance influenced by medical information on the safety, efficacy, and benefits of vaccination among pregnant women. A total of 300 patients completed the questionnaire, including 150 in Poland and 150 in the Ukraine.

Diabetic mastopathy is a rare breast condition that may occur in insulin-treated men and women of any age. The etiology is still unclear; however, the autoimmunological background of the disease is highly suspected. The changes in diabetic mastopathy may mimic breast cancer; therefore, its diagnostic process is demanding, and treatment options are not clear and limited.

However, the influence of some kinematic variables which change under different strike conditions for specific parts of the lower limb remains unknown. The aim of this study was to extend the knowledge on how targets of different shapes or the lack of a physical target would affect maximal velocity registered by a marker placed on the foot, knee and hip during the execution of a roundhouse kick.

We investigated the potential of X-ray dark-field computed tomography by a proof-of-principle murine study in a clinically relevant radiotherapeutic setting aiming at the detection of radiation-induced lung damage.
Material And Methods: Six mice were irradiated with 20 Gy to the entire right lung.
: Pregnant women are more likely to develop a more severe course of COVID-19 than their non-pregnant peers. There are many arguments for the safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant women. The aim of this study is to conduct a systematic review concerning the approach of pregnant women towards vaccination against COVID-19, with particular regard to determinants of vaccination acceptance.

Overall, 17 patients were treated with either nivolumab or pembrolizumab alone, or with a combination of nivolumab and ipilimumab every three weeks. Of 15 patients for which complete response assessment was available, treatment responders ( = 10) as compared to non-responders ( = 5) were characterized by enhanced PD-1 expression on CD8 T cells immediately before treatment (median ± median absolute deviation/MAD 26.

The striking performance in martial arts and combat sports requires measuring velocity in the context of successful contact with the target. The aim of this study was to present the novel kinematic target effect coefficient and its possible use as a speed accuracy benchmark of performance based on the example of taekwon-do roundhouse and frontal kicks.

Methods: Two groups of female C57BL/6 mice (irradiated and control) were imaged obtaining both contrasts monthly for 28 weeks post irradiation. Six mice received 20 Gy of irradiation to the entire right lung sparing the left lung.
Background: Anxiety could be felt even in objectively peaceful situations, but a vision of conflict could result in increased stress levels. In this article, we aimed to identify hidden patterns of mental conditions and create male profiles to illustrate the different subgroups as well as determinants of anxiety levels among them in accordance with proximity to a possibility of direct exposure to military action.
Methods: A sample of Ukrainian males, in duty as conscripts to military service (n = 392, M±SD = 22.
Purpose: The current study aimed to quantify the main influences and the interactions (joint effects) of gender, leg and type of target on the biomechanics of front kick quality. Through the quantification, we tried to identify the relevant factors related to the kick accuracy and maximum velocity for coaching practice.
Methods: A ten-camera NIR VICON MX40 motion capture system (250 Hz) was used to determine the kicking foot maximum velocity from two well-trained subject groups (8 males and 6 females).
The sialomucins CD34 and podocalyxin (PODXL) are anti-adhesive molecules expressed at the luminal membrane of endothelial cells of small blood vessels and facilitate vascular lumen formation in the developing mouse aorta. CD34 transcript and protein levels are increased during human angiogenesis, its expression is particularly enriched on endothelial tip cell filopodia and CD34 is a marker for tip cells in vitro. Here, we investigated whether CD34 merely marks endothelial tip cells or has a functional role in tip cells and angiogenesis.
