The use of nanotechnology and polymer-based carriers in osteoporosis treatment offers promising avenues for targeted drug delivery and enhanced therapeutic efficacy. In this study, we developed a novel nanoconjugate composed of Chitosan (CH), Chondroitin Sulfate (CS), and Daidzein (DZ) to treat glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis in an in vivo zebrafish model. The CH-CS-DZ nanoconjugate were synthesized using the ionic gelation method, with a CH: CS ratio of 1:1 and a 3 % DZ concentration was identified as optimal for further analysis.

To aid our understanding of the principles underlying chromatin organization, we introduce Hi-C metainference, a Bayesian approach that integrates Hi-C contact frequencies into multiscale prior models of chromatin. This approach combines both bottom-up (the physics-based prior) and top-down (the data-driven posterior) strategies to characterize the 3D organization of a target genomic locus.

Hence, in this study, a novel human-based meta-heuristic algorithm, namely, the learning cooking algorithm (LCA), is proposed that mimics the cooking learning activity of humans in order to solve challenging problems. The LCA strategy is primarily motivated by observing how mothers and children prepare food.

Most of the compounds exhibited dual inhibition against the enzymes enoyl ACP reductase and DHFR. Several synthesized substances also demonstrated significant antibacterial and antitubercular properties.

These derivatives demonstrate good thermal stability and suitable electrochemical properties for effective electron transport from perovskite, SbS and SbSe absorber layers. Self-assembled fluorene and fluorenone electron-transporting materials have shown improved substrate wettability, indicating bond formation between monolayer-forming compounds and the ITO, TiO, SbS, or SbSe surface.

This trial compared the efficacy and safety of intravenous ferric carboxymaltose (IV-FCM) with those of oral iron therapy in this cohort.
Methods: In this open-label, single-center, randomized controlled trial, eligible patients with hemoglobin <10 g/dL and iron deficiency (ferritin <100 ng/mL) after VB received either IV-FCM (1,500-2,000 mg) divided into 2 doses (n = 48) or oral carbonyl iron (100 mg elemental iron/day) (n = 44) for 3 months.
Meta-heuristic algorithms are usually employed to address a variety of challenging optimization problems. In recent years, there has been a continuous effort to develop new and efficient meta-heuristic algorithms. The Aquila Optimization (AO) algorithm is a newly established swarm-based method that mimics the hunting strategy of Aquila birds in nature.

CDs may emit fluorescence in the ultraviolet (UV) to near-infrared (NIR) range, which renders them beneficial for biomedical applications. CDs are usually made from carbon precursors and can be synthesized using top-down and bottom-up methods and it can be easily functionalized using different methods.

Various formulations of enteral nutrition (EN) are available and are costly. For developing countries, cost and availability is a major issue and kitchen-based diet should be explored in patients with AP.

We studied the impact of early NG tube feeding in these patients in this proof-of-concept open-label randomized controlled trial.
Methods: Eligible patients with cirrhosis undergoing endotherapy for VB were randomized to receive either a liquid diet through a 14 Fr NG tube (commencing 1 h after endotherapy) (early feeding [EF] group) or sips of water and lemon water orally (standard-of-care [SOC] group) for total duration of 48 h.
Background And Aims: Lumbar vertebral bone attenuation, measured in Hounsfield units (HU) can indirectly indicate the bone mineral density (BMD). The aim of this study is to determine the optimal HU threshold on abdominal computed tomography (CT) scans to detect osteopathy in patients with chronic pancreatitis (CP).
Methods: This cross-sectional study included patients with CP who underwent CT scans to measure HU at L1 to L4 vertebrae.
