LncRNAs and miRNAs, being the master regulators of gene expression, are crucial functional mediators in cancer. Our study unveils the critical regulatory role of the metastatic long non-coding RNA LINC00273 as the master regulator of oncogenes involved in cancer metastasis, stemness, and chemoresistance via its miRNA sponging mechanism. M2 (a salt of bis-Schiff base) mediated G quadruplex (G4) stabilization at the LINC00273 gene promoter remarkably inhibits LINC00273 transcription.

Abundance of G-rich sequences at MAPK12 promoter implied the functional probability to reverse tumorigenesis, though the formation of G-Quadruplex (G4) structures at MAPK12 promoter is elusive. Here, we identified two evolutionary consensus adjacent G4 motifs upstream of the MAPK12 promoter, forming parallel G4 structures.

Precise level of expression is important in the control of cellular growth and proliferation. Designing of -targeted antidotes to restore its basal level of cellular expression holds an optimistic approach towards anti-cancer treatment.

However, transcriptional mechanism underlying such atypical ZEB1 expression in cancer is not yet well-understood.
Methods: ZEB1 promoter G-quadruplexes were studied and modeled extensively using circular dichroism, fluorescence spectroscopy, ITC and DMS protection assay.
Transforming growth factor β (TGFβ) is a prominent cytokine that promotes tumor progression by activating epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). This study indicated that TGFβ exerted metastasis by inducing zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1 (ZEB1) and a long noncoding RNA, LINC00273, expressions in A549 cells. Knocking down LINC00273 diminished TGFβ induced ZEB1 expression as well as metastasis.

The architectural variations of epithelial layers and the presence of keratin pearls, which can be observed in microscopic images, are the key visual features in oral cancer diagnosis. The computer aided tool doing the same identification task would certainly provide crucial aid to clinicians for evaluation of histological images during diagnosis.

Here we report the inhibitory effect of a bis schiff base (M2) on cancer cell migration and invasion and . M2 has shown good solubility and permeability across the intestinal cell wall and hence can be classified as BCS (Biopharmaceutical classification system) class I.

In this study, we tested the effect of linalool vis-à-vis that of a conventional chemotherapeutic drug, cyclophosphamide, against solid S-180 tumor-bearing Swiss albino mice. Tumor volume, cell count, cell cycle phase distribution, apoptosis, and proliferation markers indicate that linalool has potent antitumor activity.
