Article Synopsis
  • - The study explores the use of deep learning to approximate attenuation maps for myocardial perfusion imaging from non-attenuation-corrected (nAC) SPECT images, as many SPECT scanners lack CT imaging capabilities.
  • - A U-Net model was employed to predict attenuation maps from 150 nAC reconstructions, achieving a normalized mean absolute error of 0.020±0.007, indicating a strong similarity between predicted and actual attenuation maps.
  • - The results suggest that it is possible to generate nearly accurate attenuation maps using deep learning techniques, enhancing the diagnostic capability of SPECT scans equipped with IQ SPECT collimators.

Trimix is a widely prescribed penile injection for patients with erectile dysfunction and is only available as a compounded medication. The instability of alprostadil, one of the major ingredients of Trimix, has been a limiting factor in its utilization. There are published stability data for Trimix formulations that have been used to establish a beyond-use-date.

Androgenetic alopecia is the most common form of hair loss. This condition affects both men and women causing significant psychological distress and a decrease in the quality of life. The objective of this study was to investigate the clinical efficacy and patient satisfaction of a topical compounded formulation (minoxidil 10%, finasteride 0.

Background: In this work, two-dimensional (2D) spatially selective magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) was evaluated in both phantom and human brain using 8-channel parallel excitation (pTX) at 7 T and compared to standard STEAM.

Materials And Methods: A 2D spiral excitation k-space trajectory was segmented into multiple individual segments to increase the bandwidth. pTX was used to decrease the number of segments by accelerating the trajectory.

Dielectric resonance effects and radio-frequency (RF) power deposition have become challenging issues for magnetic resonance imaging at ultrahigh-field (UHF) strengths. The use of transmit (Tx) coil arrays with independently-driven RF sources using a parallel transmission system is a promising method for alleviating the resulting RF inhomogeneities. In this study, the effect on homogeneity and RF-power when employing a higher number of transmit channels with multi-slice acquisition at high field strength (7T) is scrutinized.
