Aim: (1) To compare the temperature rise in the pulp chamber with different resin materials used for making provisional fixed partial dentures in anterior and posterior region while using Polyvinylsiloxane impression materials as matrix. (2) To identify a superior provisionalization material based on the amount of heat dissipated suitable for anterior and posterior provisional fixed partial denture fabrication.

Settings And Design: Temporary crowns and bridges are integral to Fixed Prosthodontics.

Implant-supported prostheses could serve as a reliable restorative option for partial edentulism. Various restorative materials have been utilized in fabricating these prostheses, impacting both esthetics and peri-implant health. The present systematic review aimed to assess the survival rate and mechanical complications of zirconia ceramic compared to metal-ceramic implant-supported multiunit fixed dental prostheses (FDPs).

Objectives: We compared the loads at which the implant holders from Astra Tech (AST) (AstraOsseoSpeed) and Osseotite Certain failed under static compression after experiencing fatigue, as well as the gap that resulted from dynamic loading between the implant-holder complexes.

Materials And Method: The ISO 14801 recommendation served as the foundation for the test protocol. Each brand's five implant-implant holder assemblies underwent dynamic loading.

In the present era when interest in digital dentistry is increasing, the published literature is still confusing about whether digital impression provides similar accuracy as provided by a conventional impression for the fabrication of a single-unit ceramic crown. The aim of the study was to systematically review the in vivo studies comparing marginal, axial, and occlusal fit of single-unit ceramic crowns fabricated after digital impressions with the ones fabricated after conventional impressions. The PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane online databases were searched for studies comparing the digital impression technique with the conventional technique for single-unit ceramic crowns.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to compare the stress distribution around various thread design implants with or without platform switching in the maxillary posterior region.

Materials And Methods: Stress-based performances of four different thread design implants (single, double, triple, and asymmetric thread design each with or without platform switching) were analyzed by the three-dimensional finite element method under a static load of 100 N at 15° oblique direction buccolingually at the central portion of the abutment. A geometric model of the posterior maxillary segment (first molar region) with an implant and abutment was modeled using the CATIA V5R19 software.

With the advancement in the implant in dentistry, improvement in the implant designs and placement protocol has enhanced the esthetics outcomes in the anterior zone. Yet the preservation of the peri-implant soft tissue and providing an appropriate emergence profile to the implant crown prosthesis, the tissue grafting procedures are necessary to overcome the ridge contour change. However through the socket-shield technique, the bone resorption process is preserved, and the contour of the buccal gingiva is maintained, thereby preventing its collapse and achieving good aesthetic results.

Aim: Species of Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus, Actinomyces, Pseudomonas, Klebsiella, and Candida are commonly seen in the oral cavity. Impression materials are commonly contaminated with microorganisms. The present study was conducted to assess the disinfection efficacy of Epimax and 0.

Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare nonhereditary developmental condition with neurological and skin disorder, characterized by presence of port wine stain on the face along with ocular disorders, oral manifestations and leptomeningeal angiomas. Here we present an unusual case of Sturge-Weber syndrome with osseous hypertrophy of maxilla.

Objectives: To correlate the changes in the level of female sex hormones (progesterone, estrogen) in plasma with the changes in severity of gingivitis in various trimesters of pregnancy till the postparturition.

Materials And Methods: This study comprised of 20 pregnant women with good oral hygiene who were followed up in each trimester till 3rd month of postpartum by screening their oral hygiene status following OHI-S index by Greene and Vermillion. Clinically to correlate gingivitis, gingival index by Loe and Sillness was carried out in each trimester till postpartum.
