A measurement of the ZZ production cross section in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.02 fb(-1) recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC is presented. Twelve events containing two Z boson candidates decaying to electrons and/or muons are observed, with an expected background of 0.

This study investigated whether adolescent aesthetic athletes (n=68, M=14.6 years), particularly ballet dancers and figure skaters, exhibit more eating pathology compared to the general population.

The present study sampled 370 college freshmen and investigated whether rumination (and its components of Uncontrollability, Causal Analysis, and Understanding) functioned as a mediator or moderator in the relationship between 2 types of loneliness (as experienced in the relationship with parents and with peers, respectively) and depressive symptoms. Results indicated that rumination partially mediated the relationship between peer-related loneliness and depressive symptoms and moderated the relationship between parent-related loneliness and depressive symptoms.

Purpose: When comparing chronic obstructive lung disease (COPD) interventions in database research, it is important to adjust for severity. Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) guidelines grade severity according to lung function. Most databases lack data on lung function.

A quantitative structure-activity relationship analysis was conducted to rationalize the structure-activity relationship and to predict how similar the inhibitor-binding profiles of two protein kinases are likely to be on the basis of the docking of lead coumpounds into the ATP-binding site. This model was used to direct the synthesis of new compounds.

This letter reports on a search for hypothetical heavy neutrinos, , and right-handed gauge bosons, , in events with high transverse momentum objects which include two reconstructed leptons and at least one hadronic jet. The results were obtained from data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1 fb collected in proton-proton collisions at [Formula: see text] with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider.

The top quark mass has been measured using the template method in the [Formula: see text] channel based on data recorded in 2011 with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The data were taken at a proton-proton centre-of-mass energy of [Formula: see text] and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb.

The [Formula: see text] events are selected in the dilepton decay channel with two identified -jets from the top quark decays.

This paper presents a search for the -channel exchange of an -parity violating scalar top quark ([Formula: see text]) in the continuum using 2.1 fb of data collected by the ATLAS detector in [Formula: see text] collisions at the Large Hadron Collider. Data are found to be consistent with the expectation from the Standard Model backgrounds.

A measurement of the top-antitop production charge asymmetry is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb of collisions at [Formula: see text] TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Events are selected with a single lepton (electron or muon), missing transverse momentum and at least four jets of which at least one jet is identified as coming from a -quark.

Intracranial monitoring helps in localizing the epileptogenic zone and can be used to delineate eloquent cortical areas adjacent to this zone. In this review we analyzed surgical successes and failures of invasive video-electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring.

High RS may contribute to overeating and weight-gain among normal weight individuals. Over time the excessive food-intake may evolve in a down-regulation of dopamine (RDS), resulting in overeating as a form of self-medication and the progression to obesity.

Recent evidence suggests that when larger amounts of CO(2) are inhaled, a large proportion of healthy subjects can also develop an affective response consistent with definitions of a panic attack. Our aim was to test whether exercise can show antipanic effects in healthy subjects when exposed to higher concentrations of CO(2).
