Antibody responses to influenza vaccines tend to be focused on epitopes encountered during prior influenza exposures, with little production of responses to novel epitopes. To examine the contribution of circulating antibodies to this phenomenon, we passively transferred a hemagglutinin (HA)-specific monoclonal antibody (mAb) into mice before immunizing with whole inactivated virions. The HA mAb inhibited HA-specific antibodies, plasmablasts, germinal center B cells, and memory B cells, while responses to a second antigen in the vaccine, neuraminidase (NA), were uninhibited.

Positive outcomes from undergraduate research experiences (UREs) have resulted in calls to broaden and diversify participation in research. However, we have little understanding of what demographics are reported and considered in the analyses of student outcomes from UREs. Without this information, it is impossible to assess whether participation in UREs has been diversified and how outcomes may vary by participant identity.

In response to unwaveringly high attrition from STEM pathways, STEM Intervention Programs (SIPs) support STEM students in effort to increase retention. Using mixed methods (survey and focus groups), we studied students at one university who were either supported or unsupported by SIPs to understand how students may differ in experiences believed to contribute to STEM persistence. We evaluated: sense of belonging, scientific self-efficacy, scientific community values, scientific identity, and STEM involvement.

It is important for hospitals to understand how hospitalizations for children are changing to adapt and best accommodate the future needs of all patient populations. This study aims to understand how hospitalizations for children with medical complexity (CMC) and non-CMC have changed over time at children's hospitals, and how hospitalizations for these children will look in the future. Children with 3+ complex chronic conditions (CCC) accounted for 7% of discharges and over one-quarter of days and one-third of costs during the study period (2012-2022).

The chemical vapor deposition of refractory metal nitrides requires volatile precursors and has previously been achieved by using metal complexes containing a variety of imide ligands. Recently, the 1,4-di--butyl-1,3-diazabutadiene (DAD) adduct of bis(-butylimide)dichloridemolybdenum(VI) was shown to be an excellent precursor for the single-source CVD of MoN thin films. Leveraging the success of this work, we prepared chromium and tungsten compounds with the same framework.

Background: Real-time dose estimation is a key-prerequisite to enable online intra-fraction treatment adaptation in magnetic resonance (MR)-guided radiotherapy (MRgRT). It is an essential component for the assessment of the dosimetric benefits and risks of online adaptive treatments, such as multi-leaf collimator (MLC)-tracking.

Purpose: We present a proof-of-concept for a software workflow for real-time dose estimation of MR-guided adaptive radiotherapy based on real-time data-streams of the linac delivery parameters and target positions.

Course-based undergraduate research experiences (CUREs) offer an expanding avenue to engage students in real-world scientific practices. Increasingly, CUREs are instructed by graduate teaching assistants (TAs), yet TAs may be underprepared to facilitate and face unique barriers when teaching CUREs. Consequently, unless TAs are provided professional development (PD) and resources to teach CUREs effectively, they and their students may not reap the assumed benefits of CURE instruction.
