Objective: To assess the trend in hepatitis A, hepatitis B, pneumococcal, tetanus and seasonal influenza vaccination in people with HIV infection and to analyse associated factors.
Methods: The Hospital Survey of Patients with HIV, an annual cross-sectional study conducted on a fixed day (2006-2021), was used. Inpatients and outpatients were included.
Background: Transformation of follicular lymphoma into an aggressive lymphoma (tFL) worsens the prognosis and the standard treatment is not completely defined. Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) could be a potentially curative option for these patients, but it has not been widely explored.
Methods: We designed a retrospective multicenter study to analyze the efficacy and toxicity of alloSCT in tFL patients and potential prognostic factors of survival.
Allo-SCT is a curative option for selected patients with relapsed/refractory (R/R) MCL, but with significant NRM. We present the long-term results of patients receiving allo-SCT in Spain from March 1995 to February 2020. The primary endpoints were EFS, OS, and cumulative incidence (CI) of NRM, relapse, and GVHD.

The only treatment to date that has been shown to control aggressive T cell neoplasms in the long term is allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT). We aim to report the results of alloSCT for advanced mature T and NK/T neoplasias performed in centers from our national GELTAMO/GETH (Grupo Español de Linfoma y Trasplante de Médula Ósea/Grupo Español de Trasplante Hematopoyético y Terapia Celular) over the past 25 years.

The objectives of this paper were to describe self-rated health among PLHIV, on ART and on ART virally suppressed and to analyse its determinants.
Methods: Data were obtained from a second-generation surveillance system based on a cross-sectional one-day survey in public hospitals.
Sclerodermoid chronic graft-versus-host disease (scGVHD) is a severe complication of allogeneic haema-- topoietic stem cell transplantation. The aim of this study was to investigate the usefulness of high-frequency ultrasound of the skin in assessing the inflammatory patterns and prognosis of patients with scGVHD. A prospective study was carried out with patients who developed scGVHD in the period June 2016 to April 2018.

In pancreas transplantation, complications can arise at each step of the process, from the initial selection of donors and recipients through the surgical technique itself and the post-operative period, when lifelong immunosuppression is required. In the early steps, careful retrieval and preservation of the pancreas are crucial for the viability of the organ and ultimate success of the transplant. The pancreas is a low-flow gland, making it highly sensitive to transplantation conditions and presenting risk of pancreatitis due to periods of ischemia.

Phenytoin has been widely used but its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics profile makes its use complicated. Levetiracetam is a safe, effective and well tolerated antiseizure drug with good results in epileptic patients.

We deform, in pure shear, a thin sample of CuZr metallic glass using a molecular dynamics simulation up to, and including, failure. The experiment is repeated ten times in order to have average values and standard deviations. Although failure occurs at the same value of the externally imposed strain for the ten samples, there is significant sample-to-sample variation in the specific microscopic material behavior.

Because allo-HSCT can modify not only the biology of the disease, but also the immune system and the microenvironment, it can potentially enhance the response to rescue therapies. Information on the efficacy and safety of novel drugs in patients relapsing after allo-HSCT is lacking, however.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA general framework for inference in dynamical systems is described, based on the language of Bayesian probability theory and making use of the maximum entropy principle. Taking the concept of a path as fundamental, the continuity equation and Cauchy's equation for fluid dynamics arise naturally, while the specific information about the system can be included using the maximum caliber (or maximum path entropy) principle.

The use of high-dose post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy) in haploidentical transplantation has proven feasible and effective in overcoming the negative impact of HLA disparity on survival. We hypothesized that PTCy could also be effective in the setting of MMUD transplantation.

Methods: Autologous HSCT was considered for CD patients with active disease, unresponsive or intolerant to approved medications and unsuitable for surgery. After HSCT, patients were closely followed up every 6 weeks during the first 2 years and every 6 months thereafter up to 5 years.
Ultrahigh-pressure phase boundary between solid and liquid SiO2 is still quite unclear. Here we present predictions of silica melting curve for the multimegabar pressure regime, as obtained from first principles molecular dynamics simulations. We calculate the melting temperatures from three high pressure phases of silica (pyrite-, cotunnite-, and Fe2P-type SiO2) at different pressures using the Z method.

Design: In this prospective study, patients with refractory CD suffering an aggressive disease course despite medical treatment, impaired quality of life and in whom surgery was not an acceptable option underwent HSCT. Toxicity and complications during the procedure and within the first year following transplantation were evaluated, along with the impact of the introduction of supportive measures on safety outcomes.
Introduction: Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a heterogeneous entity, showing a highly variable outcome. In patients with DLBCL relapsed/refractory to first-line treatment with rituximab the usefulness of the revised International Prognostic Index (R-IPI) as a prognostic tool remains unexplored. Some biological parameters (B-cell lymphoma 6 [Bcl-6], Bcl-2, p53, and multiple myeloma 1 [MUM1]) and blood populations (lymphocyte and monocyte counts) have been described as International Prognostic Index-independent prognostic factors.

Recent evidence has shown a correlation between the heat diffusion pathways and the known allosteric communication pathways in proteins. Allosteric communication in proteins is a central, yet unsolved, problem in biochemistry, and the study and characterization of the structural determinants that mediate energy transfer among different parts of proteins is of major importance. In this work, we characterized the role of hydrogen bonds in diffusivity of thermal energy for two sets of α-helices with different abilities to form hydrogen bonds.

Experimentally, changes in the interface are evaluated by generating specific mutations at one or more points of the protein structure. Here, such an evaluation is performed by means of steered molecular dynamics and use of a dimeric model of tryptophan repressor and in-silico mutants as a test case.

For a continuous maximum-entropy distribution (obtained from an arbitrary number of simultaneous constraints), we derive a general relation connecting the Lagrange multipliers and the expectation values of certain particularly constructed functions of the states of the system. From this relation, an estimator for a given Lagrange multiplier can be constructed from derivatives of the corresponding constraining function. These estimators sometimes lead to the determination of the Lagrange multipliers by way of solving a linear system, and, in general, they provide another tool to widen the applicability of Jaynes's formalism.

First-principles molecular dynamics calculations of the structural, elastic, vibrational and electronic properties of amorphous Al(2)O(3), in a system consisting of a supercell of 80 atoms, are reported. A detailed analysis of the interatomic correlations allows us to conclude that the short-range order is mainly composed of AlO(4) tetrahedra, but, in contrast with previous results, also an important number of AlO(6) octahedra and AlO(5) units are present. The vibrational density of states presents two frequency bands, related to bond-bending and bond-stretching modes.
