Key part of venous basin of deep structures of the brain is the big vein of the brain (v. cerebri magna Galeni), which actively participates in redistribution of venous blood at heavy venous outflow from the skull cavity. Venous outflow parameters are proved to have tendency to stabilization of venous blood flow.

The cerebral deep veins hypertension criteria using bloodstream in large cerebral vein (Galen's vein) are worked up. An increase in venous pressure was proved to be connected with congenital and acquired pathology of cervical spine and craniovertebral isthmus. The new roentgenologic sign of pathology located in craniovertebral isthmus is determined.

Clinical ultrasonic investigations have shown dependence of blood-stream in spinal epidural venous plexuses on the character of low back spinal diskopathy. The leading starting factor of epiduritis is a disk protrusion or large size hernia. Epiduritis in disscopathy can run a chronic course, become a cause of (or complicate) development of vertebral neurological reflex or compression syndromes.

Meniscoids have been studied of the intervertebral joints in normal subjects and in blocking of the vertebral locomotory segment. Development of changes in meniscoids in functional blocking of the vertebral segment is shown as is in different degrees of incomplete dislocation in the intervertebral joint. In an unremoved blocking of the vertebral segment the soft tissues of the joint gradually undergo accelerated dystrophy (the joint capsule, meniscoid, articular cartilage).

In the examination of 44 patients with primary hypoplasia of the vertebral artery (less than 2.5 mm in diameter) associated with osteochondrosis of the cervical segment of the vertebral column there have been revealed the following neuropathological manifestations of cerebral circulation insufficiency in the vertebral-basilar basin: cephalalgia, cochlear syndrome, vestibulocerebellar syndrome, vegetovascular dystonia. Ultrasound investigation of the vertebral arteries bloodflow showed a decrease in bloodflow in the intracranial length of the hypoplastic artery and an increase in the resistance to bloodflow in the extracranial segments (V2, V3).

Based on the analysis of 37 cases, an ultrasonic picture is described together with the character of a change in dopplerographic indicators in compression of the vertebral artery from osteophytes of the uncovertebral regions. In most cases (94.6%) the deformation is not accompanied by a hemodynamically significant compression (stenosing) of the artery and does not affect the indices for the intracranial bloodflow.

Ultrastructural investigations of the myocardium were carried out on 42 mature rabbits after formation of the fixed rotational thoracic vertebra subluxation by surgery. The dynamics of ultrastructural changes in the myocardium was determined 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 180 days after the surgery procedure. Simultaneously changes in the spinal motional segment of animals were identified with accompanying mechanical influence on the nervous and vascular structures inside the intervertebral canal.

Statistical data for the period from 1985 to 1990 showed rise of primary invalidity due to traumas in most regions of the Ukraine. Taking into consideration the ratio of fractures in trauma structure we have analyzed invalidity on account of this kind of pathology. Retarded consolidation, multiple fractures and spine fractures are the main causes.

The carrying ability of a spinal disc disturbed under axis load is found to be due to the displacement of a vertebra lying above it. The constant stretching of the extensively innervated soft tissues of the spine brings about a steady irritation process within the limits of the segmental part of the spinal cord and dysfunction of short profound muscles of the back.

Microcirculation disorders may cause functional deviation in gray matter cells of the spinal cord. One of the setting moments of the disorders is the subluxation of a vertebra as a result of the disturbance in carrying ability of the spinal disc in case of spinal osteochondrosis. In this position the soft tissues of the spinal motional well innervated segment are stretched, which induces irritation in the segmental part of the spinal cord including vegetative nervous structures.
