Background: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a systemic inflammatory disease in which TNF-α plays an important role. Fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) is reportedly involved in RA by regulating the expression of inflammatory cytokines.
Objective: This study examined the expression profile of FGFR3 in human synovial biopsy tissues and evaluated its gene-silencing effects on behaviors of synovial cells.
Background: The expression of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), E-cadherin, and vimentin in lung cancer tumor microenvironment is known to impact patient survival or response to therapy. The expression of these biomarkers may also differ between primary lung tumors and brain metastatic tumors. In this study, we investigated the interaction between these biomarkers in lung tumors with or without concomitant brain metastasis and the interaction with paired brain metastatic tumors.

MicroRNA-26a-5p (miR-26a-5p) downregulation has been previously noted in the sera of unilateral ureteral occlusion (UUO)-injured mice, and exosome-mediated miR-26a-5p reportedly attenuated experimental pulmonary and cardiac fibrosis. This study evaluated the expression patterns of miR-26a in a human tissue microarray with kidney fibrosis and in tissues from a mouse model of UUO-induced renal fibrosis.

Compared to bladder cancer, unique etiologic and genomic factors are involved in UTUC. Fibroblast growth factor receptor 3 (FGFR3) up-regulation has been proposed as a promising target for bladder cancer therapy.

We enrolled 359 GC patients who underwent a gastrectomy with D2 lymph node dissection. AKR1B10 expression was scored using an immunoreactive scoring system based on immunohistochemistry.

The miR-26a-5p had been demonstrated as a tumor suppressor in various cancers. However, the importance of miR-26a-5p regulation in upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC) remains unclear.

However, the prognostic potential and mechanistic role of DRP1 in head and neck cancer (HNC) are currently poorly understood. Here, we demonstrated a significant upregulation of DRP1 in HNC tissues, and that DRP1 expression correlates with poor survival of HNC patients.

With recent publications supporting the use of lymphaticovenous anastomosis (LVA) for treating severe lymphedema, we examined whether LVA could benefit post-VLNT patients seeking further improvement.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study enrolled eight lymphedema patients with nine lymphedematous limbs (one patient suffered from bilateral lower limb lymphedema) who had received VLNT as their primary surgery. Patients with previous LVA, liposuction, excisional therapy, or incomplete data were excluded.
Background: This study aimed to investigate the clinical outcome of adjuvant S-1 with 2-week administration followed by a 1-week rest for locally advanced gastric cancer (GC) patients.
Methods: The current study was a single retrospective cohort study that focused on the efficacy and toxicity of adjuvant S-1 with a 3-week schedule. A total of 60 patients who underwent total or subtotal gastrectomy plus D2 lymph node dissection and adjuvant S-1 treatment were identified.
Background: CUL4A has been known for its oncogenic properties in various human cancers. However, its role in intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) has not been explored.
Methods: We retrospectively investigated 105 iCCA cases from a single medical institution.
