Adsorption is one of the most promising strategies for heavy metal removal. For Hg(II) removal, mineralized Ca-based shell-type self-assembly beads (MCABs) using alginate as organic polymer template were synthesized in this work. The adsorbent preparation consists of gelation of a Ca-based spherical polymer template (CAB) and rate-controlled self-assembly mineralization in bicarbonate solution with various concentrations.

Daidzin, as one of isoflavone glycosides, has been reported to have multiple activities with few absorbed into body. However, the metabolic behavior of daidzin by intestinal flora has not been researched, that this defect severely constrains its applications. In this study, daidzin and its metabolites were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed by HPLC and ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS) in the fermentation system for daidzin and fecal bacteria.

Breath sensors promise early disease diagnosis through noninvasive, rapid analysis, but have struggled to reach clinical use due to challenges in scalability and multivariate data extraction. The current breath sensor design necessitates various channel materials and surface functionalization methods, which delays the process. Additionally, the limited options for channel materials that provide optimum sensitivity and selectivity further restrict the array size to a maximum of only 10 to 20 channels.

Objectives: Inflammasomes are associated with various autoimmune diseases. Herein, we aimed to study the occurrence of inflammasomes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from patients with autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT), and the relationship between their abundance and the inflammatory response index of AIT. Furthermore, we examined the effect of iodine on inflammasomes containing NLR family pyrin domain-containing 3 (NLRP3) and inflammasome activation of helper T (Th) cell differentiation regulation in cultured PBMCs.

The hypoxic microenvironment, characterized by significantly reduced oxygen levels within tissues, has emerged as a critical factor in the pathogenesis and progression of various autoimmune diseases (AIDs). Central to this process is the hypoxia-inducible factor-1 (HIF-1), which orchestrates a wide array of cellular responses under low oxygen conditions. This review delves into the multifaceted roles of the hypoxic microenvironment in modulating immune cell function, particularly highlighting its impact on immune activation, metabolic reprogramming, and angiogenesis.

Hydrogenolysis of [(Tp)Sr{CH(SiMe)}] () (Tp = hydrotris(3-adamantyl-5-isopropyl-pyrazolyl)borate) in hexane solution under 20 atm of H allowed for the isolation of strontium hydride [(Tp)Sr(μ-H)] () in good yield. Complex exhibits the dimeric nature in solid state, featuring two different bond modes between the Sr center and Tp ligand. Treatment of complex with PhC(H)═NBu or PhCHBpin (Bpin = pinacolateborane) afforded the strontium amide complex [(Tp)Sr{N(CHPh)(Bu)}] () and hydroborate complex [(Tp)Sr{μ-HBpin(CHPh)}] (), respectively.

Epidemiological studies have demonstrated exposure to cadmium ion (Cd) is significantly associated with the incidence and aggravation of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Cd exposure could alter lipid metabolism, and changed lipid metabolites are significantly associated with NASH. Arachidonic acid (ArA) is an omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acid.

Despite recent advances, rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients remain refractory to therapy. Dysregulated overproduction of angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) is thought to contribute to the disease development. ANGPTL4 was initially identified as a regulator of lipid metabolism, which is hydrolyzed to N-terminal and C-terminal (cANGPTL4) fragments in vivo.
