Objective: To evaluate non-carious cervical lesions (NCCLs) restored with different adhesion strategies.
Methodology: This is a prospective, randomized, double-blind, split-mouth study. An adhesive restorative system (Single Bond Universal/Filtek Z350XT - SBU) was evaluated both without and with selective enamel conditioning (E-SBU), resin-modified glass-ionomer cements (Vitremer; RMGIC), and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid pretreatment (EDTA; E-RMGIC).
With the availability of vaccines, commercial assays detecting anti-severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 antibodies (Ab) evolved toward quantitative assays directed to the spike glycoprotein or its receptor binding domain (RBD). The main objective of the present study was to compare the Ab titers obtained with quantitative commercial binding Ab assays, after one dose (convalescent individuals) or two doses (naive individuals) of vaccine, in health care workers (HCW). Antibody titers were measured in 255 sera (from 150 HCW) with five quantitative immunoassays (Abbott RBD IgG II quant, bioMérieux RBD IgG, DiaSorin Trimeric spike IgG, Siemens Healthineers RBD IgG, Wantai RBD IgG).

The artery of Percheron (aPe) is a branch of the posterior cerebral artery (PCA) and it is a variant that arises as a solitary trunk supplying both medial thalami and upper midbrain. A 78-year-old female patient, presented at the hospital emergency with approximately 12 hours of sudden onset of diplopia, associated with dizziness.

We examined the impacts of ivory poaching during the Mozambican Civil War (1977 to 1992) on the evolution of African savanna elephants () in Gorongosa National Park. Poaching resulted in strong selection that favored tusklessness amid a rapid population decline.

Subacromial shoulder pain (SSP) accounts for 44-65% of all cases of shoulder pain. Kinematic alterations in the upper limbs have been observed in individuals with SSP, although there is no consensus on such alterations in the literature. Therefore, the present study aimed to compare the three-dimensional kinematics of the scapula, trunk, and arm during shoulder flexion-extension and abduction-adduction movements in individuals with SSP and a control group using statistical parametric mapping (SPM).

In the present study, we evaluated the effects of administering in food and/or water on the hematological and immunological parameters, intestinal microbiota, resistance to bacterial diseases (streptococcosis and francisellosis) and growth of Nile tilapia. Before the experiment, probiotic bacteria isolated from Nile tilapia were selected inhibition tests. Sequencing, annotation, and assembly of the complete genome of the selected bacteria as well as other tests were performed using bioinformatics tools.

Types Of Studies Reviewed: The protocol was registered with the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews. The authors performed the search in 6 main databases and 3 gray literature sources. The included articles had to have adult samples.
Background: Highly performed nowadays, the pterional craniotomy (PC) has several widespread variants. However, these procedures are associated with complications such as temporalis muscle atrophy, facial nerve frontal branch damage, and masticatory difficulties. The postoperative cranial aesthetic is, nonetheless, the main setback according to patients.

The energetic stability of the MSA···HSO clusters increases with decreasing temperature at higher altitudes in the troposphere, which is relevant in the context of atmospheric aerosol formation. We have performed, in the present work, a detailed and systematic quantum-chemical calculation with high-level density functional theory to characterize the hydrogen bond formation in the binary MSA···HSO, ternary MSA···(HSO), and quaternary MSA···(HSO) clusters.

The pathogen that causes this disease may have its entry in Brazilian herds facilitated by the existence of a large extension of land borders. Therefore, the objective of this work was to investigate the presence of DNA and antibodies against spp.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association of isolated SUA and the SUA/SCr with CKD in hypertensive patients.
Methods: Cross-sectional study conducted with hypertensive patients followed-up by the Primary Health Care Service (PHC).
Introduction: Vaccination against COVID-19 is essential to control the pandemic. The vaccines developed so far have good safety profiles but full knowledge of adverse effects will only be acquired with time and through case reports.
Case Description: We present the case of a man admitted with rhabdomyolysis 3 days after receiving his first dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine Comirnaty Other traumatic, infectious, endocrine, electrolyte disturbance and autoimmune causes of rhabdomyolysis were excluded.
Objectives: This randomized, prospective, and split-mouth study aimed to evaluate flowable bulk-fill resin composites in class II restorations and to compare with a conventional layering technique after a 3-year follow-up.
Methods And Materials: Fifty-three subjects received three class II restorations according to the restorative systems: conventional microhybrid resin composite (PA, Peak Universal + Amelogen Plus, Ultradent), flowable bulk-fill and nanoparticulate resin composites (ABF, Adper Single Bond 2 + Filtek Bulk Fill Flow + Filtek Z350XT, 3M Oral Care), and flowable bulk-fill and microhybrid resin composites (XST, XP Bond + SDR + TPH3, Dentsply). The clinical performance and interproximal contacts were evaluated.
Background: Traumatic brain injury (TBI) represents one of the leading public health problems and a significant cause of neurological damage. Unintentional causes of TBI are the most frequent. However, fruit falling over the head causing TBI is extremely rare.

However, there is little evidence as to whether different levels of personal experiences and fears of neighbourhood violence within such settlements affect mental health. This study assessed such personal experiences and fears of residents in favelas in Brazil.

During the fractionation process to release sugars from hemicelluloses (mainly xylose), some inhibitor compounds are released hindering fermentation. Thus, the biggest challenge of using hemicellulosic hydrolysate is selecting strains and processes able to efficiently ferment xylose and tolerate inhibitors.
