Evaluation of the adverse events following immunization surveillance system in Guruve district, Mashonaland Central 2017.

Introduction: An adverse event following immunisation is any untoward medical occurrence which follows vaccination. Frequency of adverse events ranges from 13% to 34% and they should be reported regardless of severity. From the beginning of 2016 to mid-2017, Guruve district in Zimbabwe did not report any AEFIs.

Prevalence of pregnancy induced hypertension and pregnancy outcomes among women seeking maternity services in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Background: Pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) is one of the most common causes of both maternal and neonatal morbidity, affecting about 5 - 8 % of pregnant women. It is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes as well as maternal morbidity and mortality. Harare City experienced an increase in referrals due to PIH to central hospitals from 2009 to 2011.
