Homology models of cytochrome P450 24A1 (CYP24A1) were constructed using three human P450 structures, CYP2C8, CYP2C9 and CYP3A4 as templates for the model building. Using molecular operating environment (MOE) software the lowest energy CYP24A1 model was then assessed for stereochemical quality and side chain environment. Further active site optimisation of the CYP24A1 model built using the CYP3A4 template was performed by molecular dynamics to generate a final CYP24A1 model.

Objective: Toreport a causal relationship between myocardial infarction (MI) and obesity in an adolescent in the absence of the well-known risk factors for MI.

Case Presentation And Intervention: A morbidly obese 17-year-old male, a nonsmoker, nondiabetic and normotensive patient, who sustained acute inferior MI with no family history of coronary artery disease, presented with central chest pain. Distribution pattern of Schistosoma mansoni miracidia level of host susceptility/resistance and the basic cellular responses brought into play during the parasite development. Squamous cell carcinomas were evaluated with respect to tumor differentiation (through use of hematoxylin and eosin stain), microvessel density (through use of CD-34 immunocytochemical stain), and magnitudes of malate dehydrogenase (MDH), hexokinase, and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) enzyme activities. Detoxification of apricot kernels by soaking in distilled water and ammonium hydroxide for 30 h at 47 degrees C decreased the total protein, non-protein nitrogen, total ash, glucose, sucrose, minerals, non-essential amino acids, polar amino acids, acidic amino acids, aromatic amino acids, antinutritional factors, hydrocyanic acid, tannins and phytic acid. On the other hand, removal of toxic and bitter compounds from apricot kernels increased the relative content of crude fibre, starch, total essential amino acids.
