Aim: Vascular dysfunction, oxidative stress and systemic inflammation are considered responsible for the pathophysiology of Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). It is thought that desaturation due to apnea-hypopnea attacks in OSAS patients activates inflammatory pathways. In this study, we aimed to reveal the relationship between inflammation parameters Systemic immune inflammation index (SII), neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratios (PLR) severity of OSAS in patients who underwent polysomnography in our hospital's sleep laboratory.

In this study, it was aimed to find future implications by evaluating the neuropsychiatric conditions of AD cases during total and partial lockdown periods.
Methods: It is a prospective, cross-sectional, and multicenter study that includes AD cases which have been followed for at least 1 year by outpatient clinics from different regions of Turkey.
We report a case of a 68-year-old patient with laryngeal chondrosarcoma, whose first symptoms were hoarseness and gradually increasing dyspnoea, but there was no sign of disease in clinical examination, which postponed the diagnosis. The patient underwent complete laryngectomy and adjuvant conformal radiotherapy with a total dose of 70 Gy. The pathological assessment confirmed advanced laryngeal chondrosarcoma originating from thyroid cartilage.

The patient described increased fullness with dependent head position and pain on left gaze but she had no proptosis and her ocular examination was normal. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed an intraconal mass with inhomogeneous contrast enhancement.

Objective: We investigated the prevalence of mood and anxiety disorders in patients with chronic low back and neck pain caused by disc herniation and the relationships between pain and mood, and anxiety disorders.
Methods: In total, 149 patients with disc herniation and 60 healthy subjects were included. Disc herniation was diagnosed based on a physical examination and magnetic resonance imaging.
Purpose: To investigate the individual pattern of acute mucosal radiation reactions (AMRR) in patients with head and neck cancer who were treated with radiotherapy alone. Reactions were evaluated daily on an individual basis according to the Dische scoring system.
Materials And Methods: Treatment of 87 head and neck cancer patients comprised either conventional fractionation- (CF; n = 33), accelerated fractionation (AF; n = 33), hyperfractionated- (HPEFX; n = 12) or hypofractionated (HPOFX; n = 9) radiotherapy with radical intent.
Purpose: To report long-term results of randomized trial comparing 2 accelerated fractionations of definitive radiation therapy assessing the need to irradiate during weekend in patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
Methods And Materials: A total of 345 patients with SCC of the oral cavity, larynx, and oro- or hypo-pharynx, stage T2-4N0-1M0, were randomized to receive continuous accelerated irradiation (CAIR: once per day, 7 days per week) or concomitant accelerated boost (CB: once per day, 3 days per week, and twice per day, 2 days per week). Total dose ranged from 66.
Purpose: The goal of this research was to evaluate the healing processes of acute mucosal radiation reactions (AMRR) in patients with head and neck cancer.
Materials And Methods: In 46 patients with oral and oropharyngeal cancer patients irradiated with conventional (n = 25) and accelerated (n = 21) dose fractionation AMRR was evaluated daily during and after radiotherapy. Complex of morphological and functional symptoms according to the Dische score were collected daily until complete healing.
This article aims to describe an extraordinary complication of a ventriculoperitoneal shunt system that formed a knot spontaneously and lead to a shunt malfunction. A 3-year-old male patient was operated due to posttraumatic hydrocephalus. After an uneventful follow-up period of 34 months, he presented with shunt malfunction.

Aim: The aim of this study was an attempt to determine which of the investigated molecular markers may have prognostic and predictive value in head and neck cancers.
Materials And Methods: The paraffin blocks from 47 patients with oral and lip squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) after surgical treatment in the Institute of Oncology in Gliwice in the period of 1998-2002 were investigated.
Purpose: To evaluate severity of acute mucosal reactions (AMR) caused by conventional (CF) and accelerated fractionation (AF) regimens using a modified Dische system and to analyze differences in incidence and severity of AMR according to frequency and regularity of scoring.
Methods And Materials: Sixty-six consecutive patients (33 CF, 33 AF) with head and neck cancer irradiated with 5 fractions in 5 days per week (CF) or with 7 fractions in 7 days (AF) to a total dose of 70 Gy. A modified Dische system was used for daily quantitation of AMR during radiotherapy until complete healing.
Purpose: To update 5-year results of a previously published study on special 7-days-a-week fractionation continuous accelerated irradiation (CAIR) for head-and-neck cancer patients.
Methods And Materials: One hundred patients with squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck in Stage T(2-4)N(0-1)M(0) were randomized between two definitive radiation treatments: accelerated fractionation 7 days a week including weekends (CAIR) and conventional 5 days a week (control). Hence the overall treatment time was 2 weeks shorter in CAIR.
This paper presents influence of selected prognostic factors on results of laryngeal cancer radiotherapy used as the only treatment in 541 patients irradiated in Centre of Oncology-Institute in Gliwice between 1990-1996. The 3-year actuarial disease-free survival was 47.5% for supraglottic cancer and 67% for glottic cancer.

The 25-30% therapeutic gain was noted when to compare the first period of the study (1987-1992) with the second (1993-1996). The increment of effectiveness of combined treatment for larynx cancer is probably the result of better quality of surgical procedures and individualization of radiation treatment.

Significant treatment gain (p < 0.001) and good tolerance associated with accelerated RT was noted (82% of disease-free and 79% of overall survival).

Materials And Methods: One hundred patients with squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck in stage T(2-4)N(0-1)M(0) were entered into the trial between December 1, 1993 and June 30, 1996. Dose per fraction of 2.
There are some clinical evidences, that the same types of tumors originated from neighboring anatomical structures can significantly differ in their response to radiation therapy. Squamous cell cancer of supraglottis and glottis could be good examples of this phenomenon. The purpose of the study was to compare the radiocurability of cancers localized in the upper and medium level of the larynx.

There were 156 patients with glottic cancer T1-T3 N0-N2 and 388 patients with supraglottic cancer with T1-T4 N0-N3. The most common site of extralaryngeal involvement was piriform fossa.
