The transition to net zero emissions requires the capture of carbon dioxide from industrial point sources, and direct air capture (DAC) from the atmosphere for geological storage. Dissolved CO has reactivity to rock core, and while the majority of previous studies have concentrated on reservoir rock or cap-rock reactivity, the underlying seal formation may also react with CO. Drill core from the underlying seal of a target CO storage site was reacted at in situ conditions with pure CO, and compared with an impure CO stream with SO, NO and O that could be expected from hard to abate industries.

Although lung cancer claims more lives than any other cancer in the United States, screening is severely underutilized, with <6% of eligible patients screened nationally in 2021 versus 76% for breast cancer and 67% for colorectal cancer. This article describes an effort to identify key reasons for the underutilization of lung cancer screening in a rural population and to develop interventions to address these barriers suitable for both a large health system and local community clinics. Data were generated from 26 stakeholder interviews (clinicians, clinical staff, and eligible patients), a review of key systems (Electronic Health Record and billing records), and feedback on the feasibility of several potential interventions by health care system staff.

The detection and attribution of methane in aquifers overlying oil and gas reservoirs has recently gained increasing attention internationally. The Surat Basin, in the Great Artesian Basin (GAB), Australia, hosts a coal seam gas (CSG) reservoir, with feedlots, town water supply, mines and agriculture that extract groundwater from aquifers that underly and overly the gas reservoir. Aims: This longitudinal study examined the role of anger, disgust, and anxiety in the experience of misophonia, the quality of life of those with self-reported misophonia in comparison to those without misophonia, and the association of misophonia and quality of life over time.

Methods: An online longitudinal survey was conducted, with misophonia, anger, disgust, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and quality of life measured at two time points (6-months apart) in two groups of people (those with self-reported misophonia and those without misophonia).

Results: Anger and disgust emerged as the primary predictors of misophonic responses.

Accuracy and reproducibility when performing total ankle implant arthroplasty (TAA) are essential for longevity of the implant, maintaining relative stability of the joint, and theoretically reducing the formation of adjacent joint arthritis in the subtalar and knee joints. Studies have helped to illustrate the accuracy of implantation when using patient-specific instrumentation in both knee and ankle implant arthroplasty.
