Background: Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) affects different patient populations that require unique considerations in their management. However, no HS guidelines for these populations exist.
Objective: To provide evidence-based consensus recommendations for patients with HS in seven special patient populations: i) pregnancy, ii) breastfeeding, iii) pediatrics, iv) malignancy, v) tuberculosis infection, vi) hepatitis B or C infection, and vii) HIV disease.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is an autoinflammatory condition characterized by abscesses, inflammatory nodules, and tunnels in intertriginous sites of the body. The pathogenesis of HS involves follicular occlusion in combination with environmental, genetic, hormonal, and metabolic factors. HS lesions are characterized by an influx of neutrophils, histiocytes, B and T cells, and upregulation of proinflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin-1, interleukin-17, and interferons.

Even so, there are no available treatment guidelines for those with PG who are pregnant or breastfeeding. To describe existing treatment options, we systematically reviewed the literature on PG treatment in pregnant or breastfeeding patients.

Analysis of the pan-cancer TCGA database reveals that CELF2 expression strongly correlates with favorable prognosis among cancer patients. The function of CELF2 in nonmelanoma skin cancer has not been studied.

Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is an antimalarial agent that is commonly used in the management of rheumatic skin disease. Few reports exist documenting exacerbation of dermatomyositis (DM) related to HCQ. Herein, we describe three adult patients with worsening DM cutaneous disease after starting HCQ and resolution or improvement with cessation.

Objective: This study aimed to assess whether the duration of oxytocin infusion increases 24-hour delivery rates and affects the length of time-to-delivery and patient's experience.
Study Design: A randomized controlled trial was performed at a single tertiary medical center, between January 1, 2020 and June 30, 2022.
Angioinvasive dermatophytosis with necrotizing fasciitis can be a rare complication in immunocompromised patients with early surgical debridement, 12 weeks of oral terbinafine, and reduction in immunosuppression being a viable management strategy.

Identifying validated and feasible measures applicable to the practice setting has the potential to optimize treatment strategies and generate generalizable evidence that may inform treatment guidelines.
Objective: To establish consensus on a core set of clinician- and patient-reported outcome measures recommended for use in clinical practice and to establish the appropriate interval within which these measures should be applied.
Combined internal medicine and dermatology (med-derm) training programs were created to advance complex medical dermatology and inpatient dermatology care. A prior study demonstrated that compared to categorical dermatology residents, med-derm residents had less program satisfaction, yet indicated a stronger desire to pursue careers in academia. No follow-up data on practice patterns after training has been reported.

This study evaluated the construct validity of the most severe or ‘worst’ area local Hidradenitis suppurativa Activity and Severity Index-Revised (W-HASI-R) as a novel target area assessment tool for clinical setting use. W-HASI-R had strong association with the International Hidradenitis Suppurativa Severity Score System and abscess and nodule count, moderate association with Hurley stage and HS physician global assessment and weak, negative association with reverse-scored Dermatology Quality Life Index.
