Background: We aimed to assess whether the risk of disease recurrence in Crohn's disease (CD) patients that undergone ileocolic resection (ICR) with temporary ileostomy and a later stoma reversal is different compared to patients that underwent a one-stage operation.

Methods: A single-center retrospective review of all patients that underwent elective primary ICR for CD between 2010 and 2022 divided into: 2S-ICR group-patients who underwent two-stage ICR. 1S-ICR group-patients who underwent one-stage ICR.

Background: Perianal abscesses require immediate incision and drainage (I&D). However, prompt bedside drainage is controversial as it may compromise exposure and thorough anal examination.

Objectives: To examine outcomes of bedside I&D of perianal abscesses in the emergency department (ED) vs.

Introduction: The incidence of incisional hernias (IH) after midline laparotomy varies from 11% to 20%. Cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS-HIPEC) is potentially prone to hernias because a Xiphoid to pubis laparotomy incision performed on patients who have undergone previous abdominal surgeries with the addition of chemotherapy and its related adverse effects.

Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis on a prospectively maintained single institution database from March 2015 to July 2020.

Purpose: Metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS) has emerged as the most effective treatment for adolescents with severe obesity. Despite the steady increase in frequency of MBS in adolescents, most reports focus on short-term (1-2 years) follow-up.

Objective: To report on long-term weight loss and status of obesity-related comorbidities of adolescents who underwent laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG).

Background: Extra peritoneal packing (EPP) is a quick and highly effective method to control pelvic hemorrhage.

Objectives: To determine whether EPP can be as safely and efficiently performed in the emergency department (ED) as in the operating room (OR).

Methods: Retrospective study of 29 patients who underwent EPP in the ED or OR in two trauma centers in Israel 2008-2018.

Background: Peritoneal Cancer Index (PCI) and complete cytoreduction are the best outcome predictors following cytoreductive surgery (CRS) with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Lesions in critical areas, regardless of PCI, complicate surgery and impact oncological outcomes. We prospectively defined "Critical lesions" (CL) as penetrating the hepatic hilum, diaphragm at hepatic outflow, major blood vessels, pancreas, or urinary tract.

Background: Transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS) is a single port access platform used for full thickness local excision of rectal lesions. It is an appealing alternative to a radical resection of rectum that often can cause a significant bowel dysfunction described as low anterior resection syndrome (LARS). LARS is evaluated using a validated score.

Background: Failure or complications following laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding (LAGB) may necessitate band removal and conversional surgery. Band position and band-induced chronic vomiting create ideal conditions for de novo hiatal hernia (HH) formation. HH presence impedes and complicates conversional surgery by obscuring crucial anatomical landmarks and hindering precise gastric sleeve or pouch formation.

Introduction: A considerable proportion of patients who undergo bariatric surgeries (BS) do not attend routine postoperative follow-up despite recommendations for such. Data are sparse regarding the various aspects of patient adherence to consultations following sleeve gastrectomy (SG).

Objectives: To examine predictors of adherence to SG follow-up, reasons for attrition from follow-up, and the relationship between adherence to follow-up and weight loss results.

Background: Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) following cytoreductive surgery (CRS), performed using closed-abdomen technique (CAT), may affect intraabdominal pressure (IAP). High IAP may increase postoperative complications due to decreased venous return and hypoperfusion to vital organs. Elevated core body temperature (CBT) may cause multiorgan dysfunction.

Objective: To evaluate the outcomes, weight loss predictors, and gastrointestinal symptoms of patients after laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy (LSG).

Methods: The postoperative medical status of the patients was obtained retrospectively using a questionnaire and was compared to existing medical data before the surgery.

Results: We included 201 candidates, 178 patients completed mean of 3 years of follow-up.
