: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) is characterized by unpredictable skin and mucosal angioedema attacks. We aimed to find the frequency of sexual-activity-triggered attacks (STAs) and understand how the sexual life of HAE with C1-inhibitor deficiency (HAE-C1INH) patients is affected. : Adult HAE-C1INH patients were included in this cross-sectional study, which started in March 2020.

Long-term prophylaxis can stabilize this system. Donidalorsen, an antisense oligonucleotide, specifically reduces prekallikrein expression.

We aimed to investigate the frequency, type and underlying factors of violence against physicians working in ICUs in Turkey in the past 1 year. Methods We collected data by sending a questionnaire about violence against physicians working in ICUs via e-mail and WhatsApp between 1 and 15 May 2022.

For patients monitored in intensive care units in the aftermath of a cardiac arrest, one of the well-established difficulties of care after resuscitation is the ability to perform the necessary prognostic assessments as accurately and early as possible. Although current guidelines include algorithms to determine prognosis, there are still missing links and uncertainties. Biomarkers obtained from peripheral blood are generally non-invasive and easy to obtain.

Materials And Methods: Oxygen therapy was administered to the patients at two different flow rates and two different positions: T0-baseline measurements were taken in the supine position before any therapy was initiated. T1-HFNC was administered in the supine position with a flow rate of 30 L/min.
Objective: Vaccination against severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-2) prevents the development of serious diseases has been shown in many studies. However, the effect of vaccination on outcomes in COVID-19 patients requiring intensive care is not clear.
Methods: This is a retrospective multicenter study conducted in 17 intensive care unit (ICU) in Turkey between January 1, 2021, and December 31, 2021.
Background: Hereditary angioedema with C1 inhibitor deficiency (HAE-C1INH) is caused by dysfunctional C1-INH protein due to mutations in the SERPING1 gene encoding C1-INH. Marfan syndrome is a genetic connective tissue disease that affects the cardiovascular and ocular systems along with the skeletal system. In this case, we present the successful treatment of post-pericardiotomy syndrome unresponsive to classical therapy, which has not been described in the literature.

For this purpose, we evaluated the relationship of prognostic scores with 30-day mortality after LT. In addition, we planned to investigate whether the mean platelet volume/platelet count (MPR) would contribute to score improvement.

Aims: To define the related risk factors to HFNO failure and hospital mortality.
Study Design: Retrospective cohort study.
This retrospective cohort study deals with evaluating severity of COVID-19 cases on the first symptoms and blood-test results of infected patients admitted to Emergency Department of Koc University Hospital (Istanbul, Turkey). To figure out remarkable hematological characteristics and risk factors in the prognosis evaluation of COVID-19 cases, the hybrid machine learning (ML) approaches integrated with feature selection procedure based Genetic Algorithms and information complexity were used in addition to the multivariate statistical analysis. Specifically, COVID-19 dataset includes demographic features, symptoms, blood test results and disease histories of total 166 inpatients with different age and gender groups.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of feeding via percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy tube (PEG) on serum amino acid levels and mortality.
Study Design: Descriptive study.
Place And Duration Of Study: University of Health Sciences, Umraniye Training and Research Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey, from January 2016 to February 2019.
Objective: To determine the prevalence of and the risk factors for Potentially Inappropriate Medication (PIM), the drug groups most commonly evaluated as PIMs in elderly patients in the ICUs by using 2019 Beers Criteria, STOPP version 2 (v2) Criteria and EU(7)-PIM List. The relation between mortality rate and length of ICU stay with PIMs was also examined.
Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted on patients aged ≥65 years, treated in ICUs (n = 139) between June 8, 2020, and January 11, 2021.
Background: Early recognition of the severe illness is critical in coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) to provide best care and optimize the use of limited resources.
Objectives: We aimed to determine the predictive properties of common community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) severity scores and COVID-19 specific indices.
Methods: In this retrospective cohort, COVID-19 patients hospitalized in a teaching hospital between 18 March-20 May 2020 were included.
Purpose: This study aims to compare the perceptions of nurses and families on the needs of the relatives of the patients in Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in the ICU of a university hospital. The study comprised 213 critical care patients' relatives and 54 nurses working in the same ICU.
In December 2019, in Wuhan, China, scientists observed a sudden and sharp increase in the number of cases of pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome of an unknown origin. By the end of January 2020, the outbreak had spread to Asia, Europe, America, and Australia. In this article, we have outlined the pandemic action plan of our university hospital.

Introduction: The impact of ABO mismatch on outcomes following allo-HSCT remains controversial. In this study, our aim is to define the effect of ABO mismatch on post-transplant outcomes, engraftment kinetics and complications in a large cohort.
Patients And Methods: We retrospectively identified 1000 patients who underwent allo-HSCT from either bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cells at our center between 1988 and 2016.
Nephrotoxicity following colistin administration is common and factors alleviating nephrotoxicity are yet to be determined. We retrospectively evaluated outcomes of subjects who were treated with colistin (n = 133) and with antibiotics other than colistin (control, n = 133) in intensive care units. Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurred in 69.
