[Gender distribution of scientific contributions at German ophthalmological conferences-a baseline study].

Background: The proportion of female ophthalmologists in Germany has risen to approximately 50% in recent years, and approximately 66% of medical students are women. This represents a reversal of the past situation with a male predominance. Despite this change, many international studies show that women are still underrepresented at scientific conferences, particularly among invited speakers, chairpersons, and program committees.

Psychological Experiences of Elderly Patients With Covid-19 Diagnosis in Intensive Care: A Qualitative Study.

In the study, it was aimed to determine the experiences of elderly COVID-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care units. The study was conducted based on the phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research methods. In-depth interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview form with 15 participants, who were determined by the homogeneous and criterion sampling methods, two of the purposive sampling methods.

The Scale on Community Care Perception (SCOPE) for nursing students: The reliability and validity.

Aim: The fact that a great majority of undergraduate nursing students do not prefer to work in the field of community health after graduation is an important issue in terms of community care. This study evaluated the validity and reliability of Turkish adaptation of the Scale on Community Care Perception (SCOPE) for nursing students.

Design: This study is a methodological study.

Determination of Death Anxiety and Death-Related Depression Levels in the Elderly During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The aim of the study is to determine the levels of death anxiety and death-related depression in the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic. The sample of the descriptive-relational study includes 344 elderly people registered in a family health center. It was determined that the most dreaded fear reported by the elderly who got COVID-19 infection was death, and there was a highly significant positive correlation between death anxiety and death-related depression ratings of the elderly and that as the average death anxiety score of the elderly rises, so does the degree of death-related depression.

Experiences of nurses providing care to patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units: A qualitative study.

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the experiences of nurses providing care to intensive care unit patients diagnosed with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Turkey.

Methods: The research employed the descriptive phenomenological approach. The interviews were analyzed with Colaizzi's seven-step method.

Effect of Lavender Aromatherapy On Arteriovenous Fistula Puncture Pain and the Level of State and Trait Anxiety in Hemodialysis Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

Background: Patients undergoing haemodialysis suffer from anxiety and pain due to the insertion of haemodialysis needles, estimated totally 320 times per year.

Aims: This randomized controlled trial was conducted in order to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy, performed through inhalation for five minutes three times a week, on pain and anxiety experienced by patients undergoing haemodialysis after needle insertion into a fistula.

Design: Patient information form, Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) and State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) were applied to patients in the intervention group at the first follow up (the first interview before aromatherapy administration).

The Effect of Acupressure on Blood Pressure Level and Pulse Rate in Individuals With Essential Hypertension: A Randomized Controlled Trial.

A total of 91 people including 47 in the intervention group and 44 in the placebo group were included to a randomized controlled study. It can be asserted that acupressure, applied to the Neiguan (PC 6) acupuncture point in individuals with essential hypertension, provides blood pressure regulation and is effective for management of numerous hypertension-related symptoms.

Daytime Sleepiness in University Students and Internet Addiction as the Determinant.

Purpose: The aim of the study is to determine daytime sleepiness in university students and its relationship with internet addiction as the determinant.

Method: A descriptive cross-sectional design was used. Study population consisted of 1,150 first- and fourth-year students studying in some faculties at a university located in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey.

Daytime sleepiness and related factors in nursing students.

Giant cell hepatitis and autoimmune hemolytic anemia after chickenpox.

Autoimmune hemolytic anemia with giant cell hepatitis is a distinct entity in children. It is usually fatal with progressive liver disease. Immunosuppressive treatment with conventional drugs offers some response; however, it is usually only temporary.
