Cherubism is a rare autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasia, affecting the maxilla and/or mandible. The condition typically has childhood onset, followed by progression until puberty, with subsequent regression. Cherubism lesions share histological features with giant cell tumor of bone, where high-dose monthly denosumab is an effective medical treatment.

Background: During the COVID-19 pandemic, genomic surveillance was crucial for monitoring virus spread and identifying variants. Effective surveillance helped understand transmission dynamics. Singapore had success in combating COVID-19 through its surveillance programmes.

However, these traditional methods may miss cryptic gene rearrangements and are limited by the number of gene rearrangements screened at any one time. A next-generation sequencing (NGS) RNA fusion panel is an evolving technology that can identify multiple fusion transcripts in a single molecular assay, even without prior knowledge of breakpoints or fusion partners.

We compared clinical outcomes among patients undergoing robot-assisted radical cystectomy with intracorporeal ileal conduit (RARC-IC) with or without ureteral stents to determine if omission of ureteral stents affects postoperative complications.
Materials And Methods: All RARC-IC surgeries performed at our institution between November 2017 and June 2023 were reviewed.
Purpose: This study examined the feasibility and acceptability of a three-session, psychological-based intervention to improve intimacy and sexuality outcomes among women with breast and gynaecologic cancer in Singapore.
Method: Patients from outpatient oncology clinics completed screeners for marital and sexual distress. Those who endorsed either marital or sexual distress were invited into the study, and were randomized to receive the intervention immediately or be waitlisted.
Objectives: We aim to evaluate the accuracy of radiologists and radiology residents in the detection of paediatric appendicular fractures with and without the help of a commercially available fracture detection artificial intelligence (AI) solution in the hopes of showing potential clinical benefits in a general hospital setting.
Methods: This was a retrospective study involving three associate consultants (AC) and three senior residents (SR) in radiology, who acted as readers. One reader from each human group interpreted the radiographs with the aid of AI.
Recently, dermatology has increasingly focused on understanding skin aging and exploring novel therapeutic approaches. Despite progress in cosmetic and pharmaceutical research, a significant gap remains in comprehensively understanding the effects and mechanisms of herbal extracts on skin aging. While many studies have examined the bioactivities of herbal compounds in preclinical models, comprehensive human trials have been scarce over the past decade.

Elevated brain iron observed in AD has been associated with accelerated cognitive decline and may be a tractable drug target.
Objective: To investigate whether the brain-permeable iron chelator deferiprone slows cognitive decline in people with AD.
Simnotrelvir (SIM0417), an inhibitor of the 3CL protease of SARS-CoV-2, has been identified as a CYP3A sensitive substrate. This study investigated the pharmacokinetics, metabolism, and mass balance of simnotrelvir following a single oral dose of 750 mg in six healthy Chinese male subjects, co-administered with four doses of 100 mg ritonavir. Analysis using F qNMR combined with LC-MS/MS showed that the parent drug M0 constituted over 90% of the drug-related components in plasma.

Objectives: Simnotrelvir is a small-molecule highly specific 3C-like protease inhibitor for anti-SARS-CoV-2 and was approved as a combination drug with ritonavir (simnotrelvir/ritonavir) in China. Simnotrelvir is a substrate of cytochrome P450 3A (CYP3A) and P-glycoprotein (P-gp), and a weak inhibitor of CYP3A. Ritonavir is a substrate and inhibitor of CYP3A and an inhibitor of P-gp.

The lived experience of dementia, the views of the caregiver, and the pursuit of scientific understanding by researchers need to converge for holistic and collaborative action to improve dementia research. However, there often exist silos and division between these groups, which limits relevance and innovation. This paper aims to bridge this divide by offering a tripartite exploration of dementia research through three distinct, yet interconnected, lenses of a person living with the disease, their dedicated carer, and a researcher actively engaged in dementia research.

Methods: HCWs who provided care to clients with dementia were recruited from seven home care service provider organisations in Australia between July 2019 and May 2022, and randomised into one of 18 clusters. The primary outcome was HCW's sense of self-competence in providing care services to people living with dementia at 6 months post PITCH training measured by the Sense of Competence in Dementia Care Staff (SCIDS) Scale.
Purpose: Incisional hernias are a frequent complication following robotic radical prostatectomy. Observational data in men undergoing robotic prostatectomy suggest that transverse closure resulted in lower hernia rates than vertical closure. We sought to compare the incidence of incisional hernia after robotic radical prostatectomy after vertical and transverse extraction site closure.

However, SAFJ has significant morbidity and mortality, especially with delayed diagnosis. It becomes all the more important for the clinician to recognize that SAFJ can present bilaterally and be associated with direct inoculation, such as in acupuncture.

The main objective is to establish a reliable, sensitive and reproducible analytical technique to assess fragrance longevity on skin post-use of body wash products.
Methods: Headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) is used to analyse residual fragrances.
Regional centres have smaller workforces in acute diabetes care compared to their metropolitan counterparts. A cross-sectional audit performed at Albury Hospital identified a high prevalence (34%) of diabetes for inpatients compared with metropolitan centres. The high prevalence highlights the need for all healthcare services to consider appropriate resources for the management of diabetes in people admitted to hospital.

This study evaluated the potential financial impact of implementing a formulary change from reference to biosimilar natalizumab (NTZ) from the US commercial payer perspective.
Study Design: The budget impact of transitioning to biosimilar NTZ for the treatment of relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) was estimated over a 3-year time horizon based on real-world dosing.
