Prognostic role of Androgen Receptor splice variant 7 (AR-V7) in the pathogenesis of breast cancer.

Background: The Androgen Receptor (AR) has emerged as an endocrine therapy target in Breast Cancer, exhibiting up to 80% expression in clinical cases. AR-V7, a constitutively activated splice variant of AR with a truncated ligand-binding domain (LBD), demonstrates ligand-independent transcriptional activity and resistance to nonsteroidal antiandrogens like Bicalutamide or Enzalutamide, targeting the LBD. In metastatic prostate cancer, elevated AR-V7 levels lead to therapeutic resistance and increased metastasis.

Systemic Factors Affecting Prognosis and Outcome of Endodontic Therapy.

The successful outcome of endodontic treatment is dependent on the immune response and the reparative potential of the individual. Alteration in the host immune response is a common characteristic shared by both apical periodontitis and systemic diseases. Although infection-induced periapical lesions occur in a localized environment, numerous epidemiologic studies in the last few decades have investigated the potential association between endodontic disease pathogenesis and systemic diseases.

Somatic mutational landscape across Indian breast cancer cases by whole exome sequencing.

Breast cancer (BC) has emerged as the most common malignancy among females. The genomic profile of BC is diverse in nature and complex due to heterogeneity among various geographically different ethnic groups. The primary objective of this study was to carry out a comprehensive mutational analysis of Indian BC cases by performing whole exome sequencing.

A Randomized, Double-Blind, Phase III Study in India for Comparing Efficacy, Safety, and PK of ZRC-3277 (Pertuzumab Biosimilar) With Perjeta® in Patients With HER2-Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer.

Introduction: To evaluate the efficacy, safety, pharmacokinetics (PK), and immunogenicity of ZRC-3277 (pertuzumab biosimilar) with Perjeta® (pertuzumab) in previously untreated patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive metastatic breast cancer (MBC).

Patients And Methods: This phase III, multicenter, double-blind study across 38 sites in India randomized (1:1) patients with HER2-positive MBC in either the ZRC-3277 or Perjeta® group. Both groups also received trastuzumab and docetaxel.

The interaction between stromal and tumor cells in tumor microenvironment is a crucial factor in Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) progression and therapy resistance. We have identified a long non-coding RNA, CERS6-AS1, upregulated in MCL and associated with poor overall survival. CERS6-AS1 expression was elevated in primary MCL within stromal microenvironment and in a subset of MCL cells adhered to stromal layer.

Background: Dehydration is a highly prevalent clinical challenge in adults which can go undetected. Although dehydration is commonly associated with an increased risk of hospitalization and mortality, only a few international guidelines provide recommendations regarding oral fluids, electrolytes, and energy (FEE) management in adults/geriatrics with dehydration due to nondiarrheal causes. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive recommendations on the role of oral FEE in nondiarrheal dehydration in adult and geriatric Indian patients.

Effectiveness of ORSL Variants as an Adjuvant along with Standard-of-care Treatment in the Restoration of Oral Fluid, Electrolytes, and Energy in Patients with Fever and/or General Weakness in Indian Patients in an Outpatient Setting.

Background: Dehydration due to reduced intake or increased losses including insensible losses in patients with acute nondiarrheal diseases may lead to fluid, electrolytes, and energy (FEE) deficits. The impact of oral FEE supplementation adjuvant to standard of care (SOC) treatment on recovery in patients with acute nondiarrheal diseases is yet to be evaluated.

Aim: To determine the effectiveness of ORSL® variants (ORSL® Apple Drink and ORSL® PLUS Orange Drink), fruit juice-based electrolyte drinks as an adjuvant along with SOC in the restoration of oral FEE in patients with acute nondiarrheal disease with fever and/or general weakness who attended an outpatient department (OPD).

Unraveling the genetic landscape of pulmonary arterial hypertension in Indian patients: A transcriptome study.

Background: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is the abnormal elevation of pressure in the pulmonary vascular system, with various underlying causes. A specific type of PH is pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a severe condition characterized by high pulmonary arterial pressure resulting from structural changes in distal pulmonary vessels, altered arterial tone, and inflammation. This leads to right ventricular hypertrophy and heart failure.

Methods: This prospective study conducted at a high-volume tertiary care cancer center in North India to assess the knowledge, awareness, and attitudes of female breast cancer patients and impact of a brief educational intervention.

Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation in Adult Hodgkin Lymphoma at a Tertiary Care Center in India: Analysis of Outcomes and Prognostic Factors.

Unlabelled: High-dose chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) is the standard of care treatment in relapsed/refractory Hodgkin lymphoma (rrHL). Published long-term follow-up data concerning this modality from the Indian subcontinent is lacking. In this retrospective study, the data on adults (> 16 years) with biopsy-confirmed rrHL who were autografted from 1 January 2000 to 31 December 2021 at our transplant unit were analyzed.

Understanding the human conflict processing network: A review of the literature on direct neural recordings during performance of a modified stroop task.

The Stroop Task is a well-known neuropsychological task developed to investigate conflict processing in the human brain. Our group has utilized direct intracranial neural recordings in various brain regions during performance of a modified color-word Stroop Task to gain a mechanistic understanding of non-emotional human conflict processing. The purpose of this review article is to: 1) synthesize our own studies into a model of human conflict processing, 2) review the current literature on the Stroop Task and other conflict tasks to put our research in context, and 3) describe how these studies define a network in conflict processing.

Crystal structure and characterization of a new one-dimensional copper(II) coordination polymer containing a 4-amino-benzoic acid ligand.

A Cu coordination polymer, -poly[[[aqua-copper(II)]-bis-(μ-4-amino-benz-o-ato)-κ :;κ :] monohydrate], {[Cu(ABA)(HO)]·HO} (ABA = -amino-benzoate, CHNO ), was synthesized and characterized. It exhibits a one-dimensional chain structure extended into a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly through hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions. While the twinned crystal shows a metrically ortho-rhom-bic lattice and an apparent space group , the true symmetry is monoclinic (space group 2/), with disordered Cu atoms and mixed roles of water mol-ecules (aqua ligand/crystallization water).

Comprehensive germline profiling of patients with breast cancer: initial experience from a Familial Cancer Clinic.

Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among Indian females. There is limited data on germline profiling of breast cancer patients from India.

Objective: The objective of the current study was to analyse the frequency and spectrum of germline variant profiles and clinicopathological characteristics of breast cancer patients referred to our Familial Cancer Clinic (FCC).

Topical Diclofenac for Prevention of Capecitabine-Associated Hand-Foot Syndrome: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial.

Purpose: Hand-foot syndrome (HFS) is a dose-limiting side effect of capecitabine. Celecoxib prevents HFS by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) that is upregulated because of the underlying associated inflammation. However, systemic side effects of celecoxib have limited routine prescription.

Primary extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma of stomach: A case report and review of literature.

Extranodal Natural killer/T (NK/T) cell lymphoma nasal type is an aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma and has a constant association with Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection. Approximately more than 75% cases are located in upper aero-digestive tract, of which stomach is a very rare site. Very few cases of gastric extranodal NK/T cell lymphoma have been reported in the literature.

Stereotactic Frame-Based Electrode Insertion: The Accuracy of Increasingly Oblique Insertion Angles.

Aim: To investigate the relationship between planned drill approach angle and angular deviation of the stereotactically placed intracranial electrode tips.

Material And Methods: Stereotactic electrode implantation was performed in 13 patients with drug resistant epilepsy. A total of 136 electrodes were included in our analysis.

Dose-dense neoadjuvant chemotherapy in triple-negative breast cancer: Real-world data from a developing country.

Background: Dose-dense adjuvant chemotherapy has been shown to be associated with improved long-term survival outcomes in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). However, there is a lacuna of data on the benefits of dose-dense neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) in TNBC.

Methods: This retrospective study included 217 newly diagnosed cases of TNBC treated with a sequential anthracycline and taxane-based NACT, followed by definitive surgery.

Introduction: Bendamustine-rituximab (BR) is the preferred regimen for the treatment of naïve follicular lymphoma (FL).
