Anilines are ubiquitous in bio-active compounds and their synthesis can be achieved via metal-catalyzed cross-coupling reactions involving aryl halides. We describe an unusual, yet simple, Cu-catalyzed system for the amination of aryl chlorides in pure aqueous ammonia with 2.5 mol % catalyst loading under non-inert conditions.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe conversion of aryl halides to primary arylamines with a convenient and inexpensive source of ammonia has been a long-standing synthetic challenge. Aqueous ammonia would be the most convenient and least expensive form of ammonia, but such a palladium-catalyzed amination reaction with a high concentration of water faces challenges concerning catalyst stability and competing hydroxylation, and palladium-catalyzed reactions with this practical reagent are rare. Further, most reactions with ammonia to form primary amines are conducted with -butoxide base, but reactions with ammonium hydroxide would contain hydroxide as base.

Objectives: This article aims to evaluate the relationships among cancer stage, pain, functional status, depression, and malnutrition, and to determine whether these symptoms predict nutritional status.
Methods: This cross-sectional study included women (N = 72) aged 70 years or older diagnosed with breast cancer at an academic medical center in the midwestern United States.
Unlabelled: Lung transplantation is a definitive therapy for many end-stage lung pathologies. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is increasingly being used as a bridge to lung transplantation (BTT). HLA sensitization is a major barrier to lung transplantation.

Methods: The cognitive profiles of eight children were assessed using the Wechsler Intelligence Scale (WISC-IV). The effect of ketogenic diet therapy (KDT) on individual subareas of intelligence was analyzed considering the potential influence of speech motor impairments.
Initial experience with lung transplant of COVID-19-positive donors was marked by disappointing results, including a reported case of mortality through donor to recipient transmission of infection. However, since that time a number of improvements in preventative and therapeutic measures against COVID-19 have been developed. We present the case of a 51-year-old woman with scleroderma-associated interstitial lung disease who was awaiting lung transplant.

A variety of airway clearance therapies both pharmacological and non-pharmacological have been shown to ameliorate disease progression in this population and have hence been assimilated into routine respiratory care. This self-propagating cycle of mucus retention and airway damage leading to chronic inflammation and infections can also be applied to patients with respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation.

Though invasive mechanical ventilation is sometimes necessary, the use of high flow nasal oxygen may avoid the need for mechanical ventilation in some patients. For patients approaching the limits of high flow nasal oxygen support, addition of inhaled pulmonary vasodilators is becoming more common but little is known about its effects.

Search results are presented for gravitational waves produced by cosmic string loop features such as cusps, kinks, and, for the first time, kink-kink collisions. A template-based search for short-duration transient signals does not yield a detection.

Methods: The eye swab data of all neonates presenting to Children's Health Ireland at Temple Street (Dublin, Ireland) between 1st January 2013 and 3rd September 2018 was analysed. The medical records of all patients with positive eye swab results were retrospectively reviewed.
Invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma is a multi-centric adenocarcinoma that accounts for less than 5% of all lung cancer diagnoses. The most common presenting symptoms (cough, sputum production, and chest pain) in conjunction with its radiographic findings (patchy, multi-lobar infiltrates) make invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma challenging to distinguish from both infectious and inflammatory pneumonia. However, due to its aggressive nature, invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma should be considered if a presumed case of pneumonia lacks symptoms of infection (e.

We estimate the sensitivity of the network to transient gravitational-wave signals for the third (O3), fourth (O4) and fifth observing (O5) runs, including the planned upgrades of the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors. We study the capability of the network to determine the sky location of the source for gravitational-wave signals from the inspiral of binary systems of compact objects, that is binary neutron star, neutron star-black hole, and binary black hole systems.

Mechanistic studies revealed two catalyst resting states: an arylpalladium(II) hydroxide and arylpalladium(II) chloride. These compounds are present in two interconnected catalytic cycles and react with hydrazine and base or hydrazine alone to give the product.

Many AMLs harbor genetic abnormalities which determine the molecular mechanisms of the disease and are associated with distinct clinical and pathological features, prognosis, and targeted therapies. We present a case of acute myeloid leukemia with t(6;9)(p23;q34.

PHAT is not known to metastasize, but is locally aggressive with a post-excision recurrence rate of up to 50%. Two other soft tissue tumors, hemosiderotic fibrolipomatous tumor (HFLT) and myxoinflammatory fibroblastic sarcoma (MIFS), share some morphological features with PHAT, and all three have been found to possess a t(1;10) translocation.

Mechanisms governing FGF23 production are poorly defined. We herein found that ablation of the Gq/11α-like, extralarge Gα subunit (XLαs), a product of GNAS, exhibits FGF23 deficiency and hyperphosphatemia in early postnatal mice (XLKO).

In order to exert full control over the anisotropy of photoelectron emission, we exploit interferences between single-photon pathways and a manifold of resonantly enhanced two-photon pathways. These are shown to outperform nonsequential (ω, 2ω) bichromatic phase control for the example of CHFClBr molecules.

This source, for the first time, permits tests of strong-field dynamics of compact binaries in the presence of matter. In this Letter, we place constraints on the dipole radiation and possible deviations from GR in the post-Newtonian coefficients that govern the inspiral regime.

Many factors associated with schizophrenia can disrupt eating, but ED can present years before schizophrenia. If premorbid ED distinguishes a particular subtype of schizophrenia, then phenotypic features may differ between schizophrenia cases with and without premorbid ED.
