Importance: Chronic aortic regurgitation (AR) causes left ventricular (LV) volume overload, which results in progressive LV remodeling negatively affecting outcomes. Whether cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) volumetric quantification can provide incremental risk stratification over standard clinical and echocardiographic evaluation in patients with chronic moderate or severe AR is unknown.
Objective: To compare LV remodeling measurements by CMR and echocardiography between patients with and without heart failure symptoms and to verify the association of remodeling measurements of patients with chronic moderate or severe AR but no or minimal symptoms with clinical outcomes receiving medical management.
Objectives: To examine the incidence, treatment and outcomes of perforation during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
Background: Coronary perforation is a potentially life-threatening PCI complication.
Methods: We examined the clinical, angiographic, and procedural characteristics, management, and outcomes of coronary perforation at a tertiary care institution.
Background: Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) guidance have been associated with better long-term outcomes, but adoption remains limited. There are limited data on the impact of IVUS on chronic total occlusion (CTO)-PCI.
Objectives: To examine the impact of IVUS guidance on the outcomes of CTO-PCI.
Background: Hypoattenuated leaflet thickening (HALT), identified on functional cardiac computed tomography (CTA), can affect valve function and clinical outcomes. The objective of this study was to assess the impact of HALT on clinical outcomes in patients treated with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
Methods: In July 2015, Minneapolis Heart Institute implemented prospective screening of HALT at 30-day post-TAVR with CTA.
Background: Although the double kissing (DK) crush stenting technique can provide excellent outcomes in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) of bifurcation lesions, it can be challenging to perform.
Methods: We examined the clinical and angiographic characteristics, challenges encountered, and procedural outcomes of bifurcation PCI with DK crush in Prospective Global Registry of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Bifurcation Lesions (PROGRESS-BIFURCATION, NCT05100992).
Results: DK crush was used in 48 of 435 bifurcation lesions (11%).
Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare 5-year cardiovascular, renal, and bioprosthetic valve durability outcomes in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and chronic kidney disease (CKD) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR).
Background: Patients with severe AS and CKD undergoing TAVR or SAVR are a challenging, understudied clinical subset.
Methods: Intermediate-risk patients with moderate to severe CKD (estimated glomerular filtration rate <60 mL/min/m) from the PARTNER (Placement of Aortic Transcatheter Valve) 2A trial (patients randomly assigned to SAPIEN XT TAVR or SAVR) and SAPIEN 3 Intermediate Risk Registry were pooled.
Prosthetic valve endocarditis after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a rare complication associated with a high mortality rate. Nonetheless, the rapid expansion of TAVI in recent years has proportionally increased the number of patients exposed to the risk of developing transcatheter valve infection. A 71-year-old female with recent history of TAVI was diagnosed with prosthetic valve obstruction secondary to endocarditis.

We compared the clinical and procedural characteristics and outcomes of STEMI patients with and without previous CABG in a contemporary multicenter STEMI registry between 2003 and 2020. The primary outcomes of the study were mortality and major cardiac adverse events (MACE: death, MI or stroke).
