The aim of this study was to determine the attitudes of medical trainees and interns towards ageism and the factors that influence their attitudes. The population of the descriptive and cross-sectional study consisted of 165 trainees and 495 interns, a total of 660 medical students. The Turkish version of the Fraboni Scale of Ageism was used to evaluate attitudes toward older adult among medical students.

Genetic predisposition, including inborn errors of the OAS-RNAseL pathway, has been reported. We sequenced 154 MIS-C patients and utilized a novel statistical framework of gene burden analysis, "burdenMC," which identified an enrichment for rare predicted-deleterious variants in BTNL8 (OR = 4.

Although many studies have examined the relationship between missed nursing care and nurse job satisfaction, there is no synthesized evidence of these findings.
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between missed nursing care and nurse job satisfaction.

Objective: In recent years, it has been known that the melatonin hormone, secreted from the pineal gland, possesses significant antioxidant activity. This study explores the therapeutic effect of melatonin on the deleterious effects of deltamethrin, a pyrethroid pesticide extensively used worldwide, including in Türkiye, on mouse liver cells.
Methods: Hepatocytes from Balb/C mice were isolated using a two-stage perfusion method, resulting in over 85% live hepatocytes.
Background: Internet gaming disorder (IGD) has become increasingly prevalent worldwide and is recognized as a significant public health concern because of its negative consequences on individuals mental and physical health, social relationships, academic performance and overall well-being. While research on IGD has gained significant momentum in the past decade, the neural substrates underlying this disorder remains unclear. This study aims to investigate resting-state cortical activation in male subjects with IGD using a concurrent functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and electroencephalography (EEG) hybrid system.

Background: Job satisfaction is considered to be a global concern. It is also essential to improve the quality of patient care and promote nurse retention.
The immune plasma algorithm (IP algorithm or IPA) is one of the most recent meta-heuristic techniques and models the fundamental steps of immune or convalescent plasma treatment, attracting researchers' attention once more with the COVID-19 pandemic. The IP algorithm determines the number of donors and the number of receivers when two specific control parameters are initialized and protects their values until the end of termination. However, determining which values are appropriate for the control parameters by adjusting the number of donors and receivers and guessing how they interact with each other are difficult tasks.

Design: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Methods: The research was carried out using the following databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, ULAKBİM Turkish National Database, Science Direct, and Web of Science.
Prussian blue analogues are considered as promising candidates for aqueous sodium-ion batteries providing a decently high energy density for stationary energy storage. However, suppose the operation of such materials under high-power conditions could be facilitated. In that case, their application might involve fast-response power grid stabilization and enable short-distance urban mobility due to fast re-charging.

The characterization studies were performed using TEM, SEM, and XRD analyses to reveal the morphological and chemical properties of TiO-F127/MWCNT nanocatalysts. To detect the optimum parameters for MB degradation using TiO-F127/f-MWCNT nanocatalysts, several experimental parameters were conducted at various conditions such as different temperatures, pH, catalyst amount, hydrogen peroxide (HO) concentration, and various reaction contents.

Herein, we study the overtone mass sensitivity of a QCM sensor with an asymmetric N-M type electrode configuration. In order to overcome the deficiency that the sensitivity of the QCM sensor with an asymmetric electrode cannot be calculated by Sauerbrey's equation, we design the electrochemical electrodeposition experiments to measure it.

The authors aimed to reveal the mucocutaneous findings of patients diagnosed with MIS-C at presentation and evaluate the frequency of these mucocutaneous findings and their possible relationship with the severity of the disease.
Methods: A prospective study was conducted of 43 children admitted to a tertiary hospitals between January 2021 and January 2022 who met Centers for Disease Control and Prevention criteria for MIS-C.
Aim: This study aimed to analyse the study focus, thematic trends and evolution of studies on the leadership and care in nursing by using a bibliometric analysis.
Design: Descriptive and bibliometric analyses were employed.
Methods: The study universe included 3558 articles on the leadership and care in the Web of Science (WoS) database.
Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver is one of the most common forms of liver disease and role of microRNAs (miRNAs) on this illness is currently unclear. It was aimed to evaluate the predictive role of circulating miR-33a and mir-200c on high fructose corn syrup (HFCS)-induced fatty liver and vitamin D3 supplementation-related hepatic changes.
Methods: Twenty-four rats were randomized into three groups: sham (n = 8), experimental fatty liver group (n = 8), and fatty liver + vitamin D3 supplementation group (n = 8).
Kinesins are canonical molecular motors but can also function as modulators of intracellular signaling. KIF26A, an unconventional kinesin that lacks motor activity, inhibits growth-factor-receptor-bound protein 2 (GRB2)- and focal adhesion kinase (FAK)-dependent signal transduction, but its functions in the brain have not been characterized. We report a patient cohort with biallelic loss-of-function variants in KIF26A, exhibiting a spectrum of congenital brain malformations.

Majority of the reports about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on diabetes care are from the first wave of the pandemic. We aim to evaluate the potential effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the severity of diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and new onset Type 1 diabetes presenting with DKA, and also evaluate children with DKA and acute COVID-19 infection.

With the in-depth application of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensors in the fields of science and engineering, there is an urgent need for QCM sensors with high mass sensitivity. The mass sensitivity of a QCM is closely related to its resonance frequency, and the high resonance frequency leads to improve its mass sensitivity. However, the resonance frequency of a QCM resonator cannot be increased all the time due to the fragility of quartz wafer and the limits of energy trapping effect.

The limited use of healthcare services due to fear of Coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) transmission during the pandemic has raised concerns of delays in T1D diagnosis, among other diseases. This study investigated the presenting characteristics of newly diagnosed T1D patients assessed in a single clinic during the pandemic and compares them with the pre-pandemic period.

Although the causes of workplace violence have been widely analyzed, there are only a limited number of qualitative studies dealing with violence against nurses from patient and their relatives with a comprehensive and multi-directional approach.
Aim: This study aimed to explore the causes of violence against nurses exercised by patients and/or their relatives in different departments of Turkish hospitals.
Background: Juvenile dermatomyositis associated interstitial lung disease, rarely seen in pediatric age groups, has adverse effects on survival. Anti-melanoma differentiation associated gene 5, one of the identified autoantibodies in juvenile dermatomyositis, preferentially affects the lung tissue and may cause rapidly progressive interstitial lung disease. It is a major cause of mortality in juvenile dermatomyositis.
