Objective: It is well-known that children who suffer from obesity and asthma may also have exercise-induced bronchospasm. Exhaled nitric oxide is an indicator of airway inflammation, and could be affected by exercise. This study looked at how exercise, which is a typical cause of acute airway obstruction, affects the levels of FeNO and spirometric parameters in obese and asthmatic children.

Acute pancreatitis (AP) is a clinical condition that arises acutely in the pancreas through various inflammatory pathways due to multiple causes. Turkish Society of Gastroenterology Pancreas Working Group developed comprehensive guidance statements regarding the management of AP that include its epidemiology, etiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic criteria, disease severity, treatment, prognosis, local and systemic complications. The statements were developed through literature review, deliberation, and consensus opinion.

Background: Iron refractory iron deficiency anemia (IRIDA) is a rare autosomal recessive type of anemia characterized by unresponsiveness to oral iron therapy and partial response to parenteral iron therapy. In this article, we report the clinical presentation of four patients with IRIDA admitted to our clinic, including their laboratory values at admission and after oral and parenteral iron treatment, and the analysis of their mutation(s) in TMPRSS6 gene.

Context: In this paper, we present a theoretical study on the complexation of Co(II), Ni(II), and Cu(II) with a pyrazinamide ligand (PZA), which plays an important role in the treatment of tuberculosis and has biological and pharmacological benefits. It is a hybrid organic/inorganic material involving coordination between a metal ion and PZA ligand containing different coordination sites. This allows it to have different binding modes with metal ions and, therefore, provides a versatile ability to coordinate with metals.

Effectiveness of Teletherapy Versus Face-To-Face Therapy in the Treatment of Females with Vocal Fold Nodules.

Background/aim: This study compares the effectiveness of teletherapy and face-to-face voice therapy in treating vocal fold nodules (VFNs) among female patients.

Methods: Fifteen individuals who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled in the study and randomized, but after some dropouts, the study was completed with ten patients diagnosed with VFNs. Six patients received teletherapy while four were treated with face-to-face voice therapy.

Use of EAT-10 in Individuals with Alzheimer's Disease: Who Should be the Source of Information?

This study aimed to examine the compatibility between individuals with Alzheimer's disease (IwAD) and Eating Assessment Tool (EAT-10) results obtained from their caregivers and to compare EAT-10 results obtained from IwAD and caregivers with fiberoptic endoscopic swallow evaluation (FEES) results. EAT-10 questions were read aloud to the IwAD; simultaneously, the caregiver was asked to complete the EAT-10 by thinking of the IwAD in a different room. Aspiration, penetration, and residual status were first assessed as "present" or "absent" using FEES, then the Penetration Aspiration Scale (PAS) was used.
