A comprehensive ethnobotanical study was carried out in the province of Kırsehir, in the Central Anatolia region. The result of that study is this publication containing information about the main traditional folk medicine, wild food plants, and other plant uses in the area. Our goal was to collect, identify, and provide information about plants traditionally used by the local population.

Nevertheless, there is limited evidence on the safety and feasibility of robotic segmentectomy compared to video-assisted thoracic surgery. This study aimed to compare the real-world early outcomes of robotic and video-thoracoscopic surgery in anatomic segmentectomy.

Mutations in tubulin superfamily genes have been associated with tubulinopathies, encompassing a spectrum of cortical malformations including microcephaly and lissencephaly. Here, we focus on γ-tubulin, a pivotal regulator of microtubule nucleation encoded by TUBG1.

Methods: Semen parameters of 230 patients who were examined for full blood count test and hormone levels on the day of spermiogram were included in the study. Patients were grouped according to the total motile sperm count (TMSC), semen parameters, hemogram, and hormone levels were compared between groups.

Background: Adrenal gland injury (AGI) associated with trauma is an uncommon and often overlooked condition. This study aimed to evaluate the frequency of AGI in individuals with severe trauma injuries and investigate the outcomes of patients with AGI.
Methods: All patients admitted to a tertiary trauma referral center under the trauma protocol who had a computed tomography (CT) scan between January 2012 and January 2023 were analyzed retrospectively.
Background: The funnel technique, the hybrid assembly of a thoracic and abdominal aortic endograft, is advantageous for frail patients where efficient oversizing is not possible for infrarenal wide aortic necks over 34 mm. We sought to determine the advantages and disadvantages of the Funnel-endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) technique using 60 mm length thoracic endograft.
Methods: This retrospective study included 22 patients, all frail with high comorbidities, who were operated on with the Funnel technique using the 60 mm Lifetech Ankura thoracic endograft, in 7 urgent and 15 elective cases from January 2018.

The aortic valve (AV) is crucial for cardiovascular (CV) hemodynamic, impacting cardiac output (CO) and left ventricular volumetric flow rate (LVQ). Its nonlinear behavior challenges standard LVQ prediction methods as well as CO one. This study presents a novel approach for modeling the AV in the CV system, offering an improved method for estimating crucial parameters like LVQ across various AV conditions, including aortic stenosis (AS).

Patients were classified as group 1 with focal areas of abnormal signal intensity in the brainstem, group 2 without focal areas of abnormal signal intensity, and healthy control group 3 according to the MRI findings. Mean diffusivity and fractional anisotropy values of lateral lemniscus, inferior colliculus, corpus geniculatum mediale, Heschl gyrus, and brainstem were compared between groups.

Recognition of anatomical landmarks during surgery is critical for minimizing complications. Artificial intelligence-based tools can be utilized to create real-time navigation systems during laparoscopic and robotic right adrenalectomy.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between sarcopenia and clinical results in patients with peripheral arterial disease who underwent endovascular therapy (EVT).
Methods: This single-center retrospective study involved patients with PAD who underwent peripheral EVT at Ankara City Hospital, between January 2018 and December 2021.
Introduction: Huntington's disease (HD) is known as a neurodegenerative disease with movement disorder and cognitive impairment; autonomic involvement is also becoming common in some recent studies. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the presence of cardiac autonomic involvement in HD patients.
Method: Time and frequency domain parameters obtained from the 24-h Holter ECG(hECG) were compared between 20 HD patients and 20 healthy control subjects.
Background: Intraoperative neural monitoring (IONM) has been utilized for a variety of thyroid pathologies, including papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Remnant thyroid tissue following total thyroidectomy (TT) in patients with PTC is associated with increased recurrence. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the use of IONM in PTC surgery has an impact on the completeness of thyroidectomy.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) is a ligand that induces both intrinsic and extrinsic apoptotic pathways in HeLa cells by modulating complex gene regulatory mechanisms. However, the full spectrum of TNF-α-modulated epitranscriptomic mA marks is unknown. We employed a genomewide approach to examine the extent of mA RNA modifications under TNF-α-modulated apoptotic conditions in HeLa cells.

The hybrid mock circulatory loop (hMCL) serves as a crucial hemodynamic simulation tool, offering exceptional flexibility, controllability, and reproducibility for investigating the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in a controlled environment, circumventing the limitations of live organism studies. This paper introduces a novel design and control strategy for hMCL, introducing a novel left ventricle volume-elastance (LVVE) equation that unifies the autoregulation of the Frank-Starling mechanism (FSM) with left ventricle contractility (LVC). LVVE establishes a dynamic link between left ventricular volume (LVV) and LVC, inherently satisfying the regulatory relationship between left ventricular pressure (LVP) and LVV through a mathematical equation.

We aimed to analyze and report the early and midterm outcomes of surgeon-modified fenestrated stent-grafts (SMFSG) compared with other conventional endovascular methods in patients with BTAI repaired with zone 2 endovascular surgery.
Materials And Methods: Before and after the study was performed, from January 2015 to January 2020 for a period in which conventional endovascular treatments were used and from January 2020 to January 2023 for the second period in which the SMFSG technique was used.
Background: Sarcopenia is associated with poor prognosis in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) patients.
Purpose: To investigate the prognostic value of body composition measurement changes measured by computed tomography (CT) in mCRC patients.
Material And Methods: The abdominal skeletal muscle density (SMD) and skeletal muscle (SMI) indices, as well as the visceral (VATI) and subcutaneous fat tissue (SATI) indices, were calculated by automatic segmentation method on the abdominal CT images obtained before (n = 71) and after chemotherapy (n = 52).
Progress in the field of pediatric thyroid pathology has linked DICER1 mutations to benign follicular cell-derived thyroid tumors (e.g., follicular adenoma with papillary architecture, follicular nodular disease), low-risk follicular cell-derived differentiated thyroid carcinomas and PDTCs enriched in fatal or recurrent/progressive disease.
