[Isotope diagnostic findigs in nephroptoses].

Radiorenography, serial scans and clearance determinations using 131-I-Iodohippurate and 51-CPr-EDTA were performed on a total of 106 patients with unilateral nephroptosis. In 45 of them with pathological findings in the upright position the examination was repeated in the prone position. 19 patients underwent nephropexy and were reexamined 2 to 6 weeks there after.

The 20 min 99mTc thyroid uptake compares favourably with the more time consuming 24 h 131J uptake because it results in a lower radiation dose to the thyroid gland. The reliability of both methods is nearly the same. In all conditions in which the 131J uptake is altered, a similar deviation of the 99mTc uptake has been found.
