Background: The treatment of traumatic anterior shoulder instability in professional Australian Football League (AFL) players is challenging, with an emphasis on early return to play and avoidance of instability recurrence.

Purpose: To investigate return-to-sport (RTS) outcomes and complications after 2 different procedures for traumatic anterior shoulder instability in professional AFL players.

Stress fractures of the upper limb affect athletes from a wide range of sports. Athletes involved in throwing sports are particularly susceptible along with athletes from sports involving high repetitive and compressive loads such as gymnastics. Diagnosis can be made from clinical history, examination and radiography in some cases however MRI imaging is often required for definitive diagnosis.

Transosseous braided-tape and double-row fixations are better than tension band for avulsion-type greater tuberosity fractures.

Introduction: The optimal treatment for avulsion-type greater tuberosity fractures is yet to be determined. Three fixation methods are tested: tension band with #2 wire suture (TB), double-row suture bridge with anchors (DR), and simple transosseous fixation with braided tape (BT).
