Hypomanic personality traits are present in the general population and represent a risk factor for developing bipolar disorder. This personality style, notably its social component, is linked to difficulties in theory of mind (i.e.

Researchers recently suggested that there is a continuum running from subclinical schizotypal personality traits to fully expressed schizophrenia symptoms. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether schizotypal personality traits in a nonclinical population are associated with atypical brain activation during ToM tasks.

However, the exact nature of the memory processes involved is still unknown. The present study was designed to assess verbal working memory and verbal episodic memory, especially its encoding, storage and retrieval processes, in binge drinking to identify the processes impacted by this behavior.

Methods: Retrospective review of our aneurysm database to identify all the patients treated with LVIS stent-assisted embolization between July 2015 and June 2017 was performed. 15% of the patients with Y- or X-configuration DSCE constituted the study population.
Objective: Both bipolar disorder (BD) and schizophrenia (SZ) are associated with language and thought symptoms that probably reflect a semantic memory-related impairment. We conducted a preliminary study to explore the nature of semantic processing in these disorders, using event-related potentials (ERPs).
Methods: Twelve patients with BD, 10 patients with SZ and a matched group of 21 healthy controls (HC) underwent EEG recording while they heard sentences containing homophones or control words and performed a semantic ambiguity resolution task on congruent or incongruent targets.
Objective: The A Randomized Trial of Unruptured Brain Arteriovenous Malformations (ARUBA) trial has received fierce criticism, including considerable selection bias, poor generalizability, questionable clinical practices (only 15.8% underwent surgical resection, the gold standard for arteriovenous malformation [AVM] treatment), and short follow-up (33 months) for a disease process that carries a life-long risk. In this study, we sought to present our own experience treating unruptured brain AVMs to provide supporting evidence of the ARUBA trial criticism.

Materials And Methods: Prospective evaluation of 45 consecutive IIH patients who underwent VSS at our institution. A written informed consent approved by the Weill Cornell Institutional Review Board was signed by the study participants.
Purpose: Magnetic resonance venography (MRV) has not been validated in pre-operative planning of the dural venous sinus stenting (VSS) among idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) patients. We aim to prospectively evaluate dural venous sinus measurement in IIH patient population on two-dimensional time-of-flight (2D-TOF) MRV and Three-dimensional contrast-enhanced (3D-CE) MRV acquisitions and compare them against real-time endoluminal measurements with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), served as the reference.
Materials And Methods: The study has been approved by the Weill Cornell Medicine institutional review board.
Purpose: Role of contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance venography (CE-MRV) in the follow-up of venous sinus stenting (VSS) among the idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) patients.
Materials And Methods: Prospective evaluation of VSS patients with CE-MRV, DRCV and DSA for follow-up of clinically suspected recurrent stenosis. CE-MRV was evaluated against DRCV and DSA.

Colistin is a polymyxin antibiotic used to treat patients infected with multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria (MDR-GNB). The objective of this work was to develop a whole-body physiologically based pharmacokinetic (WB-PBPK) model to predict tissue distribution of colistin in rat. The distribution of a drug in a tissue is commonly characterized by its tissue-to-plasma partition coefficient, K .

The higher the complex affinity, the larger is the reduction in CIP apparent permeability. The aim of this study was to evaluate if the control of the CIP apparent permeability observed in vitro could be transposed in vivo to control the CIP lung-to-blood absorption rate and CIP concentrations in the lung epithelial lining fluid (ELF) after intratracheal (IT) administration.

Methods The cases of 93 MCA aneurysms treated with endovascular intervention at our institution between 2003 and 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic, clinical, and radiographic variables were recorded and analyzed.

It is well established that external beam radiation increases this risk; however, the risk with ophthalmic artery chemosurgery (OAC) remains unknown. We report on 10 years of experience with OAC and the rate of second primary malignancy (SPM) development.

Objectives: Optimal dosing for nebulized colistin methanesulfonate (CMS), the prodrug of colistin, is unknown. We describe the pulmonary and systemic pharmacokinetics of CMS and colistin following nebulization of 0.5 million IU (MIU) of CMS in ventilated patients.

Changes in semantic content, impaired verbal associations, abnormal prosody, and abnormal speed of language are core features of BD, and are thought to be related to semantic processing abnormalities. In the present study, we used event-related potentials to investigate the relation between semantic processing (N400 component) and hypomanic personality traits.

A pharmacokinetic model was constructed to model levofloxacin concentrations both in plasma and in the lung epithelial lining fluid (ELF). The plasma and ELF experimental concentration profiles versus time were similar for the intravenous and intratracheal levofloxacin solutions and for the intratracheal levofloxacin-loaded chitosan microsphere dry powder, indicating that levofloxacin diffused almost instantaneously through the broncho-alveolar barrier and that the chitosan microspheres released levofloxacin very rapidly, as anticipated from in vitro release studies.

Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the neurocognitive processes mediating the processing of emotional information during the integration of contextual and social information in a schizotypal population.
Methods: One hundred and thirty-one healthy participants were evaluated using the Schizotypal Personality Questionnaire and event-related potentials were recorded during a linguistic task in which participants read sentence pairs describing short social situations to themselves. The first sentence implicitly conveyed the positive or negative emotional state of a character.
The ability to integrate contextual information is important for the comprehension of emotional and social situations. While some studies have shown that emotional processes and social cognition are impaired in people with hypomanic personality trait, no results have been reported concerning the neurophysiological processes mediating the processing of emotional information during the integration of contextual social information in this population. We therefore chose to conduct an ERP study dealing with the integration of emotional information in a population with hypomanic personality trait.
