The coexistence of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG)-induced lupus vulgaris involving the site of vaccination with lichen scrofulosorum is rare. Herein we report a 3-year-old boy who presented with lupus vulgaris at the vaccination site 3 weeks after neonatal BCG vaccination followed by the development of lichen scrofulosorum approximately 2.5 years later.

The coexistence of leprosy with neurofibromatosis is rare both the diseases present with nerve thickening and skin lesions (patches and nodules). The coexistence of neurofibroma with borderline tuberculoid, lepromatous, histoid, and neuritic leprosy has been reported in the past. We report here a case of borderline lepromatous leprosy coexisting with neurofibromatosis in a 60 year-old male, who presented with neurofibromata and nerve thickening.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Gnaneshwar R Angoori"

  • - Gnaneshwar R Angoori's research primarily focuses on dermatological reactions and conditions, particularly those related to infectious diseases like leprosy and reactions to vaccinations.
  • - His notable findings include a rare case of annular erythema nodosum leprosum in a young male, as well as a unique instance of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin-induced lupus vulgaris in a pediatric patient, illustrating the complex interplay between infections and dermatological manifestations.
  • - Angoori's work also addresses the coexistence of different conditions, such as borderline lepromatous leprosy alongside neurofibromatosis, highlighting the challenges and complexities in diagnosing and treating overlapping dermatological diseases.
