Background The objective of this study was to evaluate and compare the efficacy of two modes of phenylephrine administration, namely continuous infusion and intermittent bolus, in maintaining maternal hemodynamics during cesarean delivery under spinal anesthesia (SA). Methods Eighty patients undergoing cesarean delivery with SA were allocated into two groups. In group I, 40 patients were administered a prophylactic phenylephrine infusion at a rate of 75 mcg/min immediately after SA.

In this work, lanthanum tungstate (La(WO)) nanoparticles (NPs) were synthesized by facile sonochemical method (elmasonic P, under-sonication 37/100 kHz, ~60 W energy) and utilized as an electrode material for the selective and sensitive electrochemical determination of anti-scald inhibitor diphenylamine (DPA). The synthesized La(WO) NPs were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDAX), Raman spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses. The results revealed that the sonochemically synthesized La(WO) nanoparticles were with high crystallinity and uniformly distributed nanoparticles like structure.

Background And Aims: Endotracheal tube (ETT) selection in pediatric patients is mainly done with the age, height, or weight-based formula. We compared ultrasound assessment of the subglottic area to predict the outer diameter of the ETT, with that of modified Cole's formula. The aim of the study is to compare the appropriateness of uncuffed ETT selection based on modified Cole's formula with that of ultrasound assessment method of subglottic diameter in children undergoing surgical procedures under general anesthesia.

Sodium-ion hybrid supercapacitors are potential energy-storage devices and have recently received enormous interest. However, the development of cathode materials and the use of nonaqueous electrolyte remain a great challenge. Hence, aqueous Na-ion hybrid supercapacitors based on a three-dimensional network of NaMnO were developed.

The accurate detection of dopamine (DA) levels in biological samples such as human serum and urine are essential indicators in medical diagnostics. In this work, we describe the preparation of chitosan (CS) biopolymer grafted graphite (GR) composite for the sensitive and lower potential detection of DA in its sub micromolar levels. The composite modified electrode has been used for the detection of DA in biological samples such as human serum and urine.
