This manuscript uses competitive college football as a lens into the complexities of decision-making amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Pulling together what is known about the decision-makers, the decision-making processes, the social and political context, the risks and benefits, and the underlying obligations of institutions to these athletes, we conduct an ethical analysis of the decisions surrounding the 2020 fall football season. Based on this ethical analysis, we provide key recommendations to improve similar decision processes moving forward.

Background: Neurosteroids mediate stress signaling and have been implicated in the pathogenesis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in both preclinical and clinical studies. Compared to controls, subjects with PTSD exhibit altered neurosteroid levels in peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid as well as hypoactivity in the medial orbital frontal cortex (mOFC). Furthermore, we argue that by cultivating a sophisticated system of public health, the ghetto inmates enacted a powerful form of Jewish resistance, directly thwarting the intention of the Nazis to eliminate the inhabitants by starvation, epidemic, and exposure. In doing so, we aim to highlight applicable lessons for the broader public health literature.

To date, there has been no examination of school-level compliance with the NCAA Concussion Policy.
Purpose: To examine whether stakeholders at NCAA schools report that their school has a concussion management plan and whether existing plans are consistent with the NCAA policy.

The aim of this study was to gain insight into the development of inhibitory and excitatory synapses in human prefrontal cortex (PFC) by examining the expression of CX1 and CX2 in postmortem tissues. A similar pattern has been seen in nonhuman primate cortex. A role for apoptosis in schizophrenia could potentially contribute to post-mortem evidence of reduced cortical neuropil and neuroimaging studies showing progressive cortical gray matter loss. Interestingly, antipsychotic treatment has been associated with higher cortical levels of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 protein in rat cortex and preliminary data has suggested a similar association in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
