We report on the development of a chirped pulse amplification (CPA) designed erbium fiber source with a hybrid high-power amplifier, which is composed of erbium-doped and erbium/ytterbium-co-doped double-clad large-mode-area fibers. Stretched pulses from the high-power amplifier with up to 21.9 µJ energy and 198.

The time-resolved QCL spectral study proves that InP-based upper cladding paired with an InP contact layer provides better heat dissipation and allows one to reach better power characteristics in comparison with InGaAs-based contact, even with short pulse pumping.

The photon-pair source exhibits more than 130 nm (∼24) emission bandwidth centered at 1306.6 nm.

Current state-of-the-art dispersion measurement techniques utilize linear interferometers that can be applied to devices with small dispersion-length products. However, linear interferometry often requires beam alignment and phase stabilization.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFMeasuring the dispersion of photonic devices with small dispersion-length products is challenging due to the phase-sensitive and alignment-intensive nature of conventional methods. In this Letter, we demonstrate a quantum technique to extract the second- and third-order chromatic dispersion of a short single-mode fiber using a fiber-based quantum nonlinear interferometer. The interferometer consists of two cascaded fiber-based biphoton sources, with each source acting as a nonlinear beam splitter.

Creating such a source while maintaining high entanglement quality over a broad spectral range is a challenge, which conventionally requires various compensation steps to erase temporal, spectral, or spatial distinguishabilities. Here, we point out that in fact compensation is not always necessary.

Material And Methods: Puncture smears with histologically verified medullary (C cell) carcinoma and oxyphilic cell (B cell) carcinoma were investigated. The nuclei and aggregates of C cells and B cells (Hürthle cells, oncocytes) were morphometrically examined with a computer color image analyzer on the basis of a light microscope and a digital photo camera.
All-fiber ns-pulsed visible laser at λ=521 nm is realized by frequency doubling an Yb-doped fiber laser with a periodically poled silica fiber. A 50-mW second-harmonic (SH) output power is produced that is over 6-orders of magnitude greater than previous results obtained with poled fibers in the visible spectral range. The normalized conversion efficiency of 0.

The established regularities founded the expertise system on the basis of set of threshold values of 16 qualitative parameters of aggregates and their weighting coefficients. The application of expertise system will allow evaluating with effectiveness of 85.

The anomalous scaling of the single-time structure functions of a passive scalar field advected by the velocity field governed by the stochastic Navier-Stokes equation is investigated by the field theoretic renormalization group and the operator-product expansion with inclusion of additional ultraviolet divergences related to the spatial dimension d=2. Some modification of the standard minimal subtraction scheme is used to calculate the turbulent Prandtl number and the anomalous exponents within the one-loop approximation of a perturbation theory. It is shown that the taking into account of these additional divergences is in full agreement with results obtained in the framework of the usual analytical expansion technique, which are valid for d>2.

This paper deals with the development of a novel single-frequency tunable diode laser with fiber-optic output for gas-analysis applications. The approach we propose is a convenient, simple and cheap solution for spectroscopy of single absorption lines of any gases having absorption bands in the optical fiber transparency window (0.7 microm/1.

A total of 100 chronic mental patients with schizophrenia, epilepsy and oligophrenia who had stayed in a rural hospital for a long time, were treated with restorative therapy including the complex of influences: psychopharmacological drugs, differential regimens of treatment and supervision, psychotherapy, treatment by employment and entertainment, exercise therapy and occupational therapy. The use of this complex demonstrate the improvement of the mental state in 82 patients, 30 patients could be discharged from the hospital. The role of the psycho-social influences for the mollification of pathological symptomatics characteristics of the chronic contingents of patients is discussed.
